Dear Colleagues,
If the demands of clinical work have left you physically and emotionally drained, this is an opportunity just for you.
Heart-Smile Training (HST) — a 3-Day Intensive Retreat will be held May 29 (Fri) – 31 (Sun) at LA Goryeo Temple.
This program offers 24 CA BRN CE contact hours and is backed by a joint research study from Harvard University and the KAIST Center for Contemplative Science. The pilot study protocol was published in Global Advances in Integrative Medicine and Health (October 2024).
Research findings show participants experienced reduced depression, improved emotional regulation, and enhanced heart rate variability. Participants from our April retreat shared: "My body and mind feel at ease," and "Accepting myself as I am made me feel lighter."
HST combines traditional compassion meditation with modern neuroscience and psychology, delivered through tea meditation, walking meditation, sound meditation, and sensory movement practices — accessible, evidence-based, and designed for everyday life.
