The Gregorian Chant Society of Los Angeles
Welcome to the Gregorian Chant Society of Los Angeles. Our aim is to foster spiritual meditation through the singing of Gregorian Chant, the oldest surviving tradition of Western music. Sung by voices rather than instruments, Gregorian Chant is a beautiful, haunting sound that moves like the crest and drop of a wave, or the sinuous rise of incense unto the presence of the Divine.
Gregorian Chant appeals to us for many reasons. To some, it is their heritage, connecting them to their religious past. To others, it is a form of personal meditative practice which they sing for its powerful and soothing qualities, regardless of their religious beliefs. Still for others, it is a form of creative expression that they wish to add to their musical experience.
Whether you listen to it for relaxation or sing it as a spiritual practice, Gregorian Chant promises to uplift your spirit and open your heart.
