wild Up is a modern music collective - a group of Los Angeles-based musicians committed to creating visceral, thought-provoking happenings. Our programs are eclectic studies of people, places, and ideas that we find interesting. The group believes that music is a catalyst for shared experiences, and that the concert venue is a place for challenging, exciting, and igniting the community around us.

Gay Guerrilla is one of Julius Eastman’s most incendiary works: an ecstatic, unrelenting vision of q***r liberation that still feels dangerously alive. Across the album: echoes of Lutheran hymnals, stretched to the breaking point. Repetition that builds into something almost unbearable. Then, suddenly, radiance!

Built from notation, images, text, and prompts, the piece brings musicians of all backgrounds together in a collaborative performance shaped by listening, responsiveness, and shared decision-making.

Sound on (!) to hear whirly tubes sing, glass + ceramic shatter, and coconut shells clomp like horse hooves. These are just some of the sounds you’ll encounter in the procession, alongside a choir of singers and musicians playing instruments, both traditional and unexpected. 👀
