Share Necessitites' Preventative Approach: Share Necessities, a non-profit organization, specializing in developing and strengthening emotional intelligence, critical-thinking, resilience and social responsibility. Offering the tools to build self-worth, self-acceptance, and self-awareness. Our motto: Bringing inner peace to the streets. Share Necessities uses mindfulness, meditation and yoga to address and overcome daily challenges through our I Make It Count (IMIC) – Mindfulness program. We work with inner-city schools, underprivileged at-risk youth and young adults. We believe cultivating change starts from the inside out: A healthy body and mind leads to a more positive life, building a stronger commUNITY. Through mindfulness practices, meditation and yoga, we help improve the internal and external strength and well-being of participants. Emotional intelligence and resiliency are taught through our mindfulness training's and workshops. We also help promote empowerment and connection to the community by engaging the youth in empowering social and civic responsibilities, such as volunteer experiences. Our first facility - NLCC:

The Next Level CommUNITY Center, as part of the non-profit Share Necessities, is a safe space for community members, primarily youth and teens, to find refuge and engage in personal self-care practices. –Workshops and the “I Make It Count!” (IMIC) Mindful Leadership program support community participants in identifying and coping with the hardships in the inner city. Centrally located between (4) schools, educating youth ages 12-18 years old, the Next Level CommUNITY Center will serve as a hub for unity, vitality, and peace in South Los Angeles. Programs at the Next Level CommUNITY Center are offered throughout the day, with after school and summer break hours dedicated to support youth and teens. Our six-week IMIC workshop series, for middle and high school students, is centered on teaching personal development and life skills through holistic practices, such as: mindfulness tools, meditation, yoga, and cognitive-behavioral activities. By increasing self-awareness, problem solving skills, and developing unity, the youth will experience “real-time” results through consistent engagement. This is why SHARE Necessities was created! Be a Peace of our Gift today! Hold a hand and warm a heart, TODAY!

Donate here AND share a few words with our youth. What words of encouragement, advice and inspiration would you give to your younger self?

During the holiday season, thousands of Black and Latinx children in South Central are filled with hope that there will be “ a miracle on 54th street.” The season speaks to the child in all of us; peering out the window with excitement for the gifts, cheer, and family time that is the promise of Christmas. For our children, however, the packages are filled with layers of trauma, the cupboards are scarce, and unworthiness fills the air. Songs of joy and abundance are contrasted with families in isolation and lack. What do young minds do with that confusion and the unfulfilled promises? What if you could help them to find peace, joy and keep their hope alive?

Be a part of our Gift to a commUNITY of families that will deeply appreciate a kind supportive hand and a warm heart, TODAY!

We're honored to demonstrate the examples and responsibilities of what a leader should look, speak and act like within his or her commUNITY. Our goal is to SHOW our youth how to develop "a thrive at being alive mindset versus how to survive just to stay alive mindset." We truly appreciate you for leading with the commUNITY .

Our founder, , decided to open the first holistic commUNITY wellness center in the heart of South Central, even though he was laughed at. He knew in his heart that in order to rebuild, he needed to work side by side with those that helped shape the community. He emphasized the importance of authenticity and the power of relationships. A common narrative is that an outside entity can come into a neighborhood and "fix" it. Yes, good things can come from this mentality but what happens to the actual community members and leaders?

In 2014, our founder decided to personally create the relationships and platform that allows anyone with the heart and interest to see their neighborhood thrive, get involved. This method of commUNITY building not only inspired a major shift, it inspired the shift to come from those who once felt like they had no say or were misguided on how to support his or her community.

The proof is in the growth, sustainability and community relationships. We work side-by-side with our front-line leaders once recognized as gang members.

It's always fascinating to see how today's youth light up when they open up some of the same books we read in the early 80's.
There's something magical that happens between the book and reader. A special thank you to for your contributions to our Afterschool All-Stars Tutoring program.

Bringing Inner Peace to the Streets.

Share Necessities is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization teaching mindfulness, yoga, and wellness to at-risk youth in South Central LA. It’s our mission to “Bring Inner Peace to the Streets” with our youth education programs, urban garden, and community center. We are dedicated to empowering individuals and families by providing the tools to build health, confidence, and transformation in one of Los Angeles’ most underserved communities.

We believe change starts from the inside out, a healthy body and mind lead to a more positive life. Share Necessities provides children and young adults with the skills and experience to live a well-balanced life. Understanding ourselves is essential to realizing our full potential.

Regardless of circumstance, everyone deserves the opportunity of positive self-discovery. Yoga and core mindfulness are tools we use to build our bodies, our minds, and our spirit. It’s no secret that when we feel our best, we give our best.

Our goal is to partner with schools, organizations, and community outreach groups to provide students with improved strength and physical health through yoga and meditation, emotional intelligence and resiliency by mindful actions, and a connection to the community by means of social and civic engagement.
