Landon was diagnosed at age 5 and fought for 2.5 years to battle his Leukemia, and he won! That win however, came with a cost, as he was left with osteoporosis that included severe hip and pelvis pain, peripheral neuropathy, and now muscle atrophy. His insurance allowed just 24 sessions of therapies, and he also needed OT and speech, so he used up the 24 sessions quickly. According to his most recent PT evaluation, he has the strength and balance of a 4 year old. He also experienced neurotoxicity from the chemotherapy which caused neurocognitive issues with his memory and attention. He can’t put on his clothes because he can’t lift his arms. He can’t keep up with his peers, because he can’t run. We are going to make sure he at least gets the PT sessions he needs and see if we can help with the neurocognitive issues next. Landon tragically lost his dad this week too, which makes out of pocket costs for therapies impossible. Please help us help Landon be a happy healthy kid again! 💪 🎗️ 💛

❤💪When insurance covers therapies, but not fully, and a child has complex medical issues, out of pocket costs make it impossible for some families. Harvey has multiple medical complications and now requires clinic level speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy. With medically complex children, only 1 parent can work due to so many medical visits and special needs. ThinkAgain! Understands the importance of receiving vital therapies. When it’s needed but denied, we cover it. When coverage is insufficient, we make sure there are no out of pocket costs for families in need. 🩷 Call to action! Diagnosed just before her 3rd birthday, Montserrat received central nervous system directed chemotherapy for 2.5 years to battle Leukemia. 🎗️This interrupted her brain development making it difficult for her to learn in school. After a full neuro-cognitive evaluation revealed areas of chemotherapy-induced cognitive impairment, she began work with an Educational Therapist who is helping her overcome these learning deficits, and be able to do grade level work.
