Kesem is a diverse community led by passionate and empathetic college students working to ensure that children facing the challenges of a parent's cancer have space, connection, and support to rediscover the joys of childhood. Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent's cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community. Camp Kesem at UCLA was founded i
n 2004 and supports children in the Los Angeles community by providing Camp Kesem, two free week-long summer camp experiences, and year-round Through and Beyond support services. Camp Kesem at UCLA is operated by 100 student volunteers and serves 250 campers ages 6-18 per year. Kesem operates at more than 130 chapters coast-to-coast. Its programs and services are all funded by generous donation from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. Kesem is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Furthermore, due to Facebook's donation settings, we cannot re-allocate funds raised through the platform to a specific chapter after they are received.
