Nanka Wakayama Kenjinkai was happy to see Nishida-san and Kubo-san from Wakayama’s International Division recently. They toured several important sites for Southern California’s JA community and met up with several NWK board members for lunch. We look forward to seeing you again in February for the Vice Governor’s visit!

Several Nanka Wakayama Kenjinkai members met with two educators from Wakayama Prefecture today as part of a learning opportunity through the Museum of Modern Art Wakayama. Sensei Kenji Tashiro and Sensei Yasuhira Yamaguchi have been in California for the past four days, touring sites of interest to learn about the Japanese American experience. The middle and high school history and geography teachers had the opportunity to ask questions of the NWK members, and will take what they learned back to Wakayama to share with their students and fellow teachers.

As a bonus during the trip, Yamaguchi sensei was able to connect with relatives who are NWK members and live in Los Angeles, and they were able to help fill in a genealogy tree.

We love to see the connection between Wakayama and the US!
