These were just a few of the pearls of wisdom Haley Sacks (aka Mrs. Dow Jones) shared with Jewish Professional Women and the Finance & Business Network during an enlightening conversation about financial health moderated by the dynamic Danielle Robay last week.

The event proved that talking about money doesn't have to be intimidating, jargon-filled, or boring. From negotiating a raise to growing a business to planning a lasting legacy, everybody who attended walked away a little more future-rich than when they walked in.

Nearly 1,000 community members came together last night at the 2026 Jewish Los Angeles Mayoral Forum at the Skirball Cultural Center. The evening was a powerful example of our Jewish community’s shared commitment to civic engagement. We’re grateful to Mayor Karen Bass and Nithya for the City for sharing their visions for the city, and for speaking candidly on issues that matter to Jewish Angelenos. HISTORIC WIN: Safe Worship Zones — California Assembly Bill 2664 — co-sponsored by JFEDLA, Jewish California - formerly JPAC, ADL and JCRC of San Francisco, was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom at Wilshire Boulevard Temple! JFEDLA, together with the bill’s other cosponsors, was proud to help lead this important effort to advance legislation establishing a buffer zone around the entrances of houses of worship. These zones will help protect congregants from intimidation, obstruction, and harassment and ensure that people of all faith communities across California can safely access their places of worship. Thank you to Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan for your incredible leadership, to the California Legislative Jewish Caucus for advancing this legislation, and to our Los Angeles Safe Worship Zone Coalition for your advocacy and persistence. Together, we will continue building a city where every person can practice their faith freely, safely, and without fear.
