We are excited to have a booth at CicLAvia—West LA on Sunday, April 26, from 9am to 4pm. Experience 3 miles of car-free open streets connecting Santa Monica Blvd and Westwood Blvd into a public park for the day.

Come enjoy the open space in your favorite people-powered way—whether that’s walking, jogging, biking, skating, or simply spectating. Take the day at your own pace; it’s not a race. You can enter or exit the route at any point.

Come find us at the Santa Monica Hub (See map attached)! Stop by to learn about our program and get your BBBSLA sticker. You’ll also find essentials, community partners, resource booths, activities, photo ops, and more at the various Hubs.

CicLAvia is a nonprofit organization that has been opening streets across LA County since 2010. As always, their events are FREE and welcoming to all ages and abilities.

Right now, there are boys in our community waiting for mentors to spend time with, talk to, and learn from.

We’re on a mission to recruit more male mentors, and we need your help to get there!

April is National Volunteer Month, and we are celebrating the Bigs who show up, stay consistent, and make a real impact every single day!

To our incredible Bigs, thank you for being there, for building meaningful connections, and for making mentorship something that is both powerful and simple.

Right now, there are dozens of boys in our community waiting for a mentor. Someone to spend time with, talk to, and look up to.

We were proud to be part of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards, celebrating the leaders and organizations making a meaningful impact across our community. ✨

A special congratulations to our Board Chair, Mike Daly, on being named Nonprofit Advocate of the Year. We are so grateful for his leadership, passion, and commitment to expanding access to mentorship across Los Angeles.

We were also excited to support and celebrate our President & CEO, Lauren Plichta, who participated in the panel “Managing & Fundraising in Evolving Times,” sharing insights on navigating today’s challenges and continuing to serve our communities in impactful ways.

And a big shoutout to our Board Member, Jerome Caldwell, for being recognized as a nominee for Volunteer of the Year. We also want to congratulate our Board Member, James Do, on being named a finalist for Business Angel of the Year. 👏

We had an amazing time this past Saturday at our Alumni Connection Hour at Angeleno Wine Company! 🍷✨

Current and Alumni Bigs came together to connect, share their mentorship journeys, and build new friendships—all while enjoying a delicious wine tasting and snacks. It was a great reminder of the lasting impact of our community 💚

What a day! 🏃‍♀️💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 BBBSLA BIG5K at Griffith Park. This year marked a huge milestone as the first time BBBSLA hosted and produced our very own 5K, and our community showed up in the best way.

From Bigs and Littles running side by side to teams, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters cheering each other on, it was an incredible morning celebrating mentorship and community.
We’re so grateful to everyone who ran, walked, fundraised, and helped make the day so special.

Last week, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles was proud to attend , standing alongside fellow agencies from across the country to advocate for youth mentorship.

Together with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, we met with members of Congress to rally support that strengthens and grows mentoring programs for young people nationwide.

A special thank you to Congressman Robert Garcia, Congresswoman Laura Friedman, and Congressman Jimmy Gomez for supporting BBBSLA and believing in the power of mentorship to empower the next generation.

What happens when leadership on the court meets leadership in the community?

During NBA All-Star Weekend, center teamed up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles at Chick Hearn Court for a special pre-game moment focused on mentorship, opportunity, and showing up for the next generation.

As part of national partnership with , BBBSLA received a $10,000 investment to support mentoring relationships across Los Angeles. We are grateful to Crocs for making this moment possible and for believing in the power of one-to-one mentorship.
