PWC takes part in the Clear The Road to Freedom, an interfaith pilgrimage from Adelanto to Los Angeles, happening between Sept 29th to Oct 6th to help shed light and spread awareness on the cruel and inhumane treatments of our detained brothers and sisters.

Join the last 2 days, and take part in the end of the pilgrimage as it culminates at the Metropolitan Detention Center, 535 N Alameda St., LA, CA  90012. In this time of injustice and inhumanity, solidarity is sacred.

Kilala niyo ba si Larry Itliong?

Si Larry Itliong ay isang Pilipinong magsasaka at labor leader ng kilusang manggagawa. Dahil sa matapang na pakikibaka ni Larry Itliong upang makamit ang mga karapatan ng mga manggagawa, nabago ang kabuhayan ng mga magsasaka sa Amerika.

Noong 1965, pinangunahan niya ang Great Delano Grape Strike upang ipaglaban ang makatarungang sahod at mas maayos na kondisyon sa trabaho para sa mga magsasaka. Ang makasaysayang limang-taong boycott na ito ay nakatulong sa pagkamit ng mga unang kontrata ng unyon at mahahalagang proteksiyon para sa daan-daang magsasaka sa U.S.

Sa Pilipino Workers Center, pinararangalan namin ang kanyang pamanang kasaysayan sa pamamagitan ng edukasyon, sining, musika, at kultura habang ipinagdiriwang natin ang taunang Larry Itliong Day Festival.

Samahan ninyo kami sa Oktubre 10 sa San Diego at Oktubre 24 sa Los Angeles habang kinikilala natin ang mahalagang ambag ni Larry Itliong sa kilusang paggawa.
Alamin ang istorya ng mga manong at ng iba pang magsasaka at lider ng mga unyon. Tuklasin natin ang mga istorya ng pakikibaka at mga sakripisyo nila, na siyang naging daan sa pagsusulong ng mga karapatan ng mga magsasaka at iba pang mga manggagawa. Pakinggan ang ating magkatuwang na kasaysayan mula sa mga kamag-anak mismo ng mga lider ng unyon at grupo ng mga farmworker na tumulong sa paghubog ng kilusan.

Alamin din kung paano masusuportahan ang mga manggagawang patuloy na nakararanas ng hindi patas na pagtrato at kawalang-katarungan sa lugar ng trabaho.
Ipagpatuloy natin ang mga adhikain na sinimulan ni Manong Larry at ating ipaglaban ang ating katarungan, karapatan at kasaysayan! Samahan niyo kami sa Larry Itliong Day Festival 2026!

Larry Itliong was a Filipino farmworker and a pioneering labor leader, whose activism changed the lives of agricultural workers in the United States. In 1965, he led the Great Delano Grape Strike, demanding fair wages and better working conditions for farmworkers. The historic 5-year boycott helped secure the first union contracts and vital protections for hundreds of farmworkers.

At Pilipino Workers Center, we honor his legacy through education, art, music and culture, as we celebrate the annual Larry Itliong Day Festival. Join us on Oct 10 in San Diego and on Oct 24 in Los Angeles, as we recognize Larry Itliong’s contributions to the labor movement. Learn about the Manongs, the other farmworkers and union leaders whose struggles and sacrifices helped advance the rights of agricultural workers. Hear about our shared history from direct descendants of the farmworkers who helped shape the movement. Find out how you can support workers who are still facing unfair treatment and injustice in the workplace. Let’s reclaim our history as we celebrate Larry Itliong Day!

PWC at Meeting of the Minds 2026!

Pilipino Workers Center is proud to join workforce leaders from across California at the California Workforce Association’s Meeting of the Minds in Monterey.

John Perales, PWC’s Workforce Development Program Manager, joined the panel “From Innovation to Implementation: Building California’s High Road Workforce Development Ecosystem,” presented by the UCLA Labor Center.

Alongside leaders from the California Workforce Development Board, LA County Department of Economic Opportunity, UCLA Labor Center, and Building Skills Partnership, John shared PWC’s experience implementing the High Road Training Partnership (HRTP) model and building workforce strategies rooted in worker voice, equity, quality jobs, and strong community partnerships.

As PWC continues to grow our workforce development work, we are proud to bring the experiences and perspectives of the workers and communities we serve into statewide conversations about the future of California’s workforce.
