Catch Me Bird Dance Theater

Catch Me Bird Dance Theater Contemporary dance-theater, experimental collaboration, aerial performance, improvisation and education Catch Me Bird (C.

Derrick Jones and Nehara Kalev) began creating reality performances that grapple with the lunacy of being in a partnership that exists both onstage and offstage. The company fuses contemporary dance and aerial daring with madcap scenes from real-life events. Catch Me Bird debuted in Los Angeles in 2004 with a full-length collaboration; a combination of their actual wedding and an evening of dance,

theater and aerial performance. Anniversary performances inspired by the elements of Paper (2005) Silk (2008) and Iron (2010) chronicled their evolving relationship, and made them pioneers of Reality Performance.

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
