New air quality monitors coming soon to Boyle Heights and East LA! These monitors will help provide neighborhood-level air quality data and support community efforts to better understand local pollution sources.

This work is being guided by our partner and our Community Advisory Committee (CAC), a group of local residents helping shape the direction of our local air quality monitoring project.

As the project continues, the CAC will host quarterly meetings and community events throughout the year, where residents can hear updates, learn about the data being collected, and co-design solutions together!

Take a look at the 2026 CAC Calendar of Events to see upcoming opportunities to get involved. Heads-up: the next public Quarterly Meeting is on May 14, so let us know what topics you’re interested in learning more about by leaving a comment below!

We hope to see you there! Register using the link in our bio.

Last week, Climate Resolve launched the Rooted in Resilience: Garden Toolkit Youth Leadership Program.

The Climate Resolve team held the first creative session at the Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory , where they introduced the zine-style garden toolkit and its goals to 10 youth participants. Then the participants began developing the guide’s design through an exploratory mood board activity.

Before their next creative session, the participants are working on a PhotoVoice activity to capture art in their community through photography.

We’re so excited to see their creations!

“I want to learn how to improve air quality where I live.”
“I want to use data to drive change.”
“I want to be an active participant in protecting the environment.”
“I want to help not just my family, but my neighborhood and my community.”

These reflections capture the spirit of participants at our recent Community Deployment Event in East LA.

We kicked off the day with a live demonstration from our project’s technical consultant, Clarity Movement Co., where residents learned how our new air quality monitors work, what data they collect, and how to access that information from home.

With support from City Plants, participants learned how trees support cleaner air and healthier neighborhoods. Attendees successfully adopted 100 fruit and shade trees to plant locally, helping grow the community tree canopy where it’s needed most. A huge thank you to our partners, , , , and participants! 🌳🤝

Two weeks ago, the Mediterranean Climate Action Partnership (MCAP) convened in Los Angeles. Climate Resolve helped organize the group’s many site visits, working with the California Natural Resources Agency and Resilient Cities Catalyst , the Partnership’s secretariat.

The delegation visited such sites as the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, LA Cleantech Incubator, Exposition Park, Eaton Canyon, Jackson Magnet Elementary in Altadena, Destination Crenshaw, SoFi Stadium, and the Hyperion Water Treatment Plant.

They saw what LA is doing about stormwater capture, water recycling, permeable and cool pavement, depaving asphalt streets, replanting native plants, recovering from fire, and how we’re working with youth to create new jobs and build community.

Globally, more than 600 million people call the mediterranean climate zone home. Leapfrogging over federal intransigence on climate action, our team shared local solutions with localities across the globe.

Join us in welcoming the 2026 Community Advisory Committee (CAC)!

This year, 15 residents from Boyle Heights and East LA are serving on our CAC to help guide our community air quality monitoring project.

Over the past few months, local residents shared concerns about air pollution and its impact on community health. In response, Climate Resolve partnered with ’s Environmental Justice Promotoras to ensure community voices help shape this work.

In February, the CAC identified 10 priority locations for new air quality monitors: 4 monitors will be installed near the Boyle Heights industrial corridor, and 6 will be placed in vulnerable areas throughout East LA.

The CAC includes local residents, parents, students, and elders committed to creating positive change in their communities. We’re excited to work alongside these community leaders as the project moves forward.
