Our WAI Greater LA team had an amazing time this week at Hancock Park Elementary teaching students about aviation as a career and creating aviation art for the 2024 NASAO Center for Aviation Research and Education contest “Air Sports For A Peaceful World." 😎🥳👩‍✈️✈️

Happy Birthday month to Coleman, the first woman of African American and Native American descent to earn her pilot’s license in the U.S. Her goal was to encourage women and African Americans to reach their dreams – and this continues to be her inspiring legacy today.

Today we honor Katherine Sui Fun Cheung. Cheung was the first Chinese woman in history to receive an international pilot’s license in 1932.

Born today, 🥳 Dec 12th 1904, she paved the way for female aviators in the US and her story still inspires women all around the world.
