Before + after, but make it trauma-informed.

Unit 12 started as a two-bedroom apartment. Today, it’s two trauma-informed therapy suites + a flexible business center serving the residents + staff at The Midnight Mission.

Every inch was designed with intention: regulation, agency, orientation, belonging + the very real ways our environments shape how we feel, focus, connect + engage.

And yes, the transformation is pretty good too.

This is trauma-informed interior design in practice.

Flip Day is community, full stop.

Volunteers showed up, jumped in + put serious work into Unit 12 The Midnight Mission .

Good design does not stop at the eyeballs.

For Unit 12, acoustics were part of the plan from day one. We chose panels that manage sound + double as pin boards.

Rheaply finds. U-Haul miles. Full send.

Our friends at Rheaply flagged a few donated pieces that might work for Unit 12, so we rented a truck, sat in LA traffic, and went to see what could make the cut.

A few did.

Local , don’t sleep on this one: Rheaply connects eligible nonprofits with donated items that still have plenty of life left.
