Hollywood 4WRD is a coalition driven to create systemic change to effectively address homelessness in Hollywood through advocacy, education, service coordination, and innovation. In 2008, representatives of the Hollywood business community, in conjunction with local government officials, service providers, neighborhood representatives, and the faith community began meeting on a monthly basis to di

scuss a shared commitment to ending homelessness. The challenges are plentiful, but the passion to continue to fight for real change is stronger than ever.

Next Wednesday Hollywood 4WRD will convene a panel of housing leaders to ask: What impact has Measure ULA had and where should we go from here?

Three years after voters approved Los Angeles’ “Mansion Tax” (Measure ULA), the city is still grappling with its impact. The measure, enacted in April 2023, levies a 4% tax on property sales between $5 million and $10 million, and 5.5% on sales above $10 million. It has generated unprecedented municipal revenue for affordable housing and homelessness prevention – but has also raised questions about slowed housing production, transparency in spending, and unintended effects on the real estate market.

🎉 Community in action! Thanks to everyone who showed up yesterday for H4WRD’s IN-PERSON community meeting yesterday.

✊ 🧻 ✂️ The meeting kicked off with an epic Rock-Paper-Scissors icebreaker (congrats to our champion Douglas!) and then pivoted to our hosts at Pacific Clinics sharing their vision for transforming their Hollygrove campus into a community hub offering an array of programs and services. We’re especially grateful to their team for the warm, thoughtful and honest Q&A — it was clear our guests yesterday felt the same!

Come Check Out Hollygrove — 9/16 Member Meeting Open to Community!
After a rare week off last week to mark the Labor Day holiday, we’re excited to invite all community members to join us for next week’s IN-PERSON Hollywood 4WRD Member Meeting — on 9/16 from 2-3pm — at Hollygrove Campus. The meeting will feature a tour of the expansive campus, along with a presentation from Pacific Clinics leadership on their vision for the Hollygrove Haven Clinic, Family Resource Center, and other exciting elements of their evolving “Community Hub.”

The Hollywood YMCA is now offering a local cooling center to community members in need! (See image for hours of operation.) This space is open to anyone, but please note the following requirements:
• Guests must present an ID or some form of identification.
• First-time visitors are required to sign a waiver and have their photo taken for a profile, which will then be used for future visits.
Please share this information with anyone who needs a break from the heat this week!
