Something beautiful is happening in Tanzania! 🌹 The 2025 Emerging Leaders Program cohort gathered to celebrate the completion of a journey that has equipped them to lead with greater confidence, courage, and purpose. Under Tirzah Global Leader Racheal’s leadership, these women are returning to their communities ready to create lasting change. 💪🏽

Working alongside women in South Africa, Minah has watched women carry families, neighborhoods, and entire movements through unimaginable challenges and injustices.

Too often they’re made to believe they’re weak or second-class citizens.

But Minah recognizes something entirely different.

She sees women who are resilient, resourceful, and capable of incredible things. Her dream is that they would learn to trust in themselves and to recognize the strength and potential they’ve been working through all along.

Through Tirzah’s Small Business Initiative, women gain practical skills, supportive community, and the confidence to build sustainable livelihoods. The training is about so much more than income. It’s about rediscovering what’s always been true: women have the capacity to lead, provide, innovate, and transform their communities.

Because when women believe in themselves, entire communities are changed.

On Mother’s Day, we introduced you to a group of young mothers in Zimbabwe with a dream: a chicken project that could create sustainable income for their families and open new opportunities for their community.

Now they’re building it.

(Make sure you swipe all the way to the end for one very small helper who stole our hearts! ❤️)

After meeting with a technical advisor to assess the land and determine the size of the chicken house, the women got to work. Together, they cleared the site, marked out the building location, and spent the day gathering poles from the surrounding forest.

What we love most about this update is who is leading it.

These are young mothers and marginalized women who have spent years building community together under global leader Violet’s care and leadership. Women who have faced unimaginable injustice are rising to transform the futures of many.

In short, these women believed in one another’s potential to change the story for their children and create a new future for themselves.

Every pole carried, every hole dug, every load lifted is part of a bigger story: women rising to create opportunity for themselves, their children, and their community.

A few days ago, we shared how our community in Zimbabwe came together to build a 120-meter firebreak in exchange for the wood needed for their community chicken project.

Today, we’re sharing what happened afterward. 💛

The girls and women in this video are part of a community that Tirzah leader Violet has been nurturing for years. Many are young mothers and women who have often been overlooked by the systems around them. Through mentorship, practical support, and small-business initiatives, Violet has helped cultivate a community where girls and women can build skills, confidence, and opportunity together.

After finishing the work, they celebrated. 🎶

The song they’re singing comes from 1 Samuel 2:8:

“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy...”

For us, this moment captures something beautiful about Tirzah’s work.

Yes, there are projects. Yes, there are budgets, challenges, and practical problems to solve.

But at the heart of it all are girls and women discovering what is possible when they believe in their own potential, support one another, and invest in the future of their communities.

✨What you’re seeing here is not the end result: it’s the joy, resilience, and community being built along the way.

Last month, many of you gave through Tirzah’s Mother’s Day campaign. 💛

This is what that story looks like today: girls and women rising to create the lives they dream of for their children, their families, and their communities.

The girls and women in this video are part of a community that Tirzah leader Violet has been nurturing for years in rural Zimbabwe. Many are young mothers and women who have often been overlooked by the systems around them. Through mentorship, discipleship, practical support, and entrepreneurship, Violet has helped cultivate a community where girls and women can build skills, confidence, and opportunity together.

🐔 One of the newest opportunities is a community chicken project designed to create income for women and their families.

As preparations began, the group encountered an unexpected challenge: the wood needed to build the chicken house would cost more than anticipated.

🌱 Rather than allowing the project to stall, Violet drew on the relationships she has built within her community. A neighboring farm owner offered an alternative: if the women built a 120-meter firebreak around his plantation, they could gather all the wood needed for construction for free.

What could have been a setback became an opportunity.

🤝 As the women worked side by side, Violet led conversations about stewardship, integrity, and the value of doing our work with excellence, even when no one is watching.

✨ This is what community transformation often looks like: not grand gestures, but women solving problems together, strengthening relationships, and building something that will benefit families for years to come.
