AFI DWW+ Since the program’s inception in 1974, DWW+ has trained over 350 filmmakers.

AFI DWW+ educates traditionally underrepresented narrative filmmakers through the production cycle of a short film, providing hands-on instruction led by industry experts. We are saddened by the loss of Christine Choy, a graduate of the AFI DWW Class of 1982 and Academy Award nominated filmmaker. Her groundbreaking films include WHO KILLED VINCENT CHIN?, which is preserved in the United States National Film Registry. Her legacy lives on in the filmmakers she taught and inspired.
