Our Executive Director, Kyle, will be co-leading a breakout session at the 🟥 Arts for LA annual State of the Arts Summit on October 22 at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse!!

Kyle and friends of ABG from WISL will be co-leading a session called “Young People are Not (Just) Our Future; They are Our Present: Advocacy, Accessibility, Agency, Action — Why Youth Voices Matter in the Arts.”

State of the Arts is an annual gathering of LA’s creative community to reflect, connect, and rise to action. This year’s theme—People, Power & Cultural Equity—will explore how LA’s arts, culture and entertainment sector must continue to build power through arts advocacy, organize community voices, and sustain our work in a contracting climate.

Yet another ABG mural completed during this LA heatwave! This mural, titled “Blossom” features a fun and abstract design co-created by ABG Artist in Residence Vivien Rodriguez and students and families from Helen Bernstein High School STEM Academy!!

We had a wonderful Community Paint Day and were even joined by Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez!! Thanks for stopping by and investing in our community! 😎

We are so impressed with how this turned out and are so grateful for all of the youth, community members, and friends who brought this to life. We can’t wait for the next one 🐉🌸

*Drumroll* Introducing our newest mural in LA County!! Co-designed by ABG team member Isa, members of the Claremont Teen Committee, Teen Activity Center, and Youth Activity Center, and volunteers from the City of Claremont, this mural was brought to life thanks to the love of so many amazing people! Thank you to everyone who made this possible! 🐻🍯🍊🐸🌺

Our performances of Wizard of Oz Jr. were such a success even the Wizard of Oz himself would be proud!! Our youth at took us on a beautiful, nostalgic trip to the Emerald City as we followed Dorothy on her journey home. We were so proud of our young performers!!! ✨🌈

Special thanks to ABG Artists Lauren, Jenna, Lexie, Savannah, and Sabrina along with Aveson staff Ms. Arlynn and Coach Mike along with so many more incredible people for making this all happen!

Last night, ABG was welcomed by our friends at for the Institute Open House! ✨

This year, ABG has been partnering with the Wildwood Institute for Social Leadership () on developing strategies to gather impact stories from our youth. Our Executive Director sat down with lead WISL consultant and friend of ABG, Cooper, and other panelists to talk about human-centered skills in a rapidly evolving world, student agency, finding one’s purpose, and the impact of the arts on communities!

just hosted its annual Board of Directors retreat! Board Members, staff, and Artists all came together to enjoy each other’s company, take care of business, and have some fun!

We got to enjoy the company of some horses 🐴, build some bridges out of office supplies 🖇️, do a seed starting activity with 🫜, and share some “snacks with a story!”

Joined by ABG youth musicians for the first time on stage, the Symphony will blend classical music with music from Studio Ghibli for a beautiful performance!!
