One week into Black History Month and as continue to celebrate Black History in our communities, we at ABG are taking a moment to pause and reflect.
In June 2020, we painted this mural titled “A Memorial.”This mural was never meant to live solely in a single moment or a single month. It was created through collective care, trust, and collaboration and was shaped by artists, youth, and community members who brought their stories, grief, pride, and power to this wall.
As the largest Black Lives Matter mural in the United States, this mural stands as a reminder that Black History is living, ongoing, and foundational for all of us in the ABG community.
This reflection is part of the work. We remain committed to showing up, listening deeply, and supporting Black communities year-round.
