June is Mens Mental Health Month. Men face unique barriers to mental wellness, often times overlooked, under-diagnosed, and ignored. So this month we're creating space for that conversation. A place to breathe, connect, and be honest about what's really going on.

Join us for our Men's Mental Health Event on June 27. You don't have to have it all figured out to show up.

Mother’s Day is all about celebrating the women who helped shape us into who we are today. For our founder/CEO Marissa, that woman is her mother, Paris McDonald someone who has been an integral part of L.I.T.E. from the very beginning.

A message from our founder:
My mom has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. She has always been my biggest cheerleader the person I could lean on and the one who would do anything she possibly could to help me. That same care she showed me growing up has translated into adulthood and into L.I.T.E.
There have been many sleepless nights ,whether preparing for a presentation, an event, or an important meeting and my mom refused to let me tackle them alone. I quite literally don’t know where I’d be without her. She has always poured into me and made sure that no matter what was going on, I knew I was loved and cared for.
My grandma has also always made sure I knew how much I was loved. She has always been supportive of everything I’ve done, she may not have always fully understood it and asked a lot of questions but no matter what, she has always trusted me and made sure she was by my side. Happy Mothers Day 💐💜

L.I.T.E. Within: A Woman’s Wellness Event was everything we prayed it would be and more. Women came, slowed down, and allowed themselves to simply be poured into.

Thank you to our incredible speakers Aaricka Washington and Rachel Angelica, and to Marielle Porter for leading our Pilates session and helping us reconnect with our bodies.

We would also like to thank the following stores for their support in providing the food, Pavilions, Vons, Trader Joe’s and Sprouts.

To every woman who showed up for herself, that was the bravest thing you could have done. We see you. We honor you. 💛

This is what L.I.T.E. is all about.

Is there a woman in your life who has not had a single hour to herself in longer than she can remember?
Send this to her.
Not because she is struggling. Because she deserves a room that sees how hard she is working and gives something back.

Here is what Saturday looks like.
You arrive at 12:30. Nobody needs anything from you.
You sit in a room with women who are carrying the same things you are, and someone finally names it out loud.
You move your body - not to perform, not to push, just to breathe.
You hear something true that you have needed permission to believe.
You leave knowing something about yourself that you walked in unsure of.
That is what L.I.T.E. Within actually is.

Saturday, May 2 · 12:30-2:30 PM · Veterans Memorial Park, Culver City, CA · $15 5 days. Link in bio.

There are parts of you that have been waiting for a space like this.

Meet Marissa Chanelle.

Marissa Chanelle is the Founder & CEO of L.I.T.E. a nonprofit dedicated to healing, identity and empowerment. She created L.I.T.E. out of her own experience of feeling unheard and unseen. Her commitment to supporting others started early. While in college, she served as a youth mentor with the D.C. Courts, helping young people navigate challenges at home and find healthier ways to communicate. She later co-hosted The Grounded Podcast, where over 100 subscribers tuned in weekly for honest conversations about faith and personal growth.

Marissa has continued building communities rooted in healing and connection. She co-founded Unity, a faith-based online group of 15 members focused on spiritual growth and overcoming limiting beliefs. She also launched a fitness and wellness group of 19 people, creating a safe space for accountability in physical and mental health. Most recently, she co-founded a women’s fellowship group of 9 members committed to confidence, identity, and mutual support.

Her lifelong passion for understanding people led her to pursue a B.S. in Psychology from Howard University and an M.S. in Forensic Psychology from Arizona State University. Her training, combined with her personal journey, informs L.I.T.E.’s blend of faith-rooted principles and psychological insight.

Marissa doesn’t create rooms for performance, she creates them for breakthrough.
