Dorrance Dance is an award-winning tap dance company based in New York City. Founded in 2011 by MacArthur “Genius” award winner, choreographer and tap dancer Michelle Dorrance, the company is celebrated for connecting tap’s history to contemporary urban culture and infusing the art form with theatricality and humor.

Convivencias brings together dancers and musicians from Spain and Southern California for an evening of passion and drama. Featuring flutist Juan and violinist Bernardo Parrilla, from one of Jerez de la Frontera’s legendary flamenco families, alongside powerhouse singer Carmen Grilo, and an international gathering of stunning musicians and dancers, Convivencias celebrates flamenco as a universal language through a deeply moving, profoundly expressive, and exhilarating performance.

Did you know August 17th was National Nonprofit Day? 🎉 LA’s dance scene is powered by nonprofits like DRC, working together to keep the art form thriving.

DRC’s HomeGrown residency program offered in collaboration with Lula Washington Dance Theatre, Fusion Performing Dance Academy, The Music Center, and Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, is a great example of LA’s dance nonprofits pooling resources to give local artists free space to create.
