How does an organization thrive for 54 years? Through mutual reliance (Kapwa), community care (Kapakanan), integrity (Karangalan), and committing to what is just (Katarungan).

SIPA is the legacy organization it is today because of supporters who share these values and commit to SIPA’s future as donors. Our new strategic plan isn’t just a list of goals and strategies. It is a values-centered guide to achieving our mission together. Every dollar invested in this new strategy directly impacts people – youth, families and individuals who we call community.

Today, SIPA officially launches our 2026-2030 Strategic Plan to scale our impact and build a sustainable future for the multi-ethnic neighborhood of Historic Filipinotown and Filipino Americans throughout Los Angeles County.

Entering our 55th year, SIPA is excited to implement this roadmap that builds on our legacy of service and moves us toward achieving our vision: SIPA envisions a world where expansive possibilities reside, culture is honored, and everyone thrives. From building young leaders to community care, SIPA is where transformation advances – one step, one story, and one family at a time.

Over the next five years, our work will anchor around 3 pillars:

🌱 Pillar 1: Cultural Roots and Leadership – Building youth leadership toward community healing and power through the Filipino, BIPOC and cultural identities

❤️ Pillar 2: SANA (Support, Access, Navigation and Agency) – Expanding access to health, healing and well-being for low-income and immigrant individuals

🏡 Pillar 3: Community Economic Development – Stabilizing our affordable housing and strengthening the cultural and economic vitality of Historic Filipinotown

In 1972, SIPA was founded with a simple, urgent mission: to serve and empower low-to-moderate-income Filipino youth and families in Los Angeles. For 54 years, we have shown up every single day. We’ve navigated economic shifts, policy changes, and evolving community needs. We are proud of our deep roots in Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles.

But legacy isn't about standing still. It's about staying relevant. The challenges our community faces today look vastly different than they did five decades ago. To serve effectively for the next 50 years, we must evolve. In a few days, we are pulling back the curtain on our new 5-year Strategic Plan—a roadmap designed to future-proof our impact. Stay tuned.
