When Regional Director Yulia Kardash planned a visit to UCAP-funded programs serving children in Odesa and the surrounding region, a large-scale missile and drone attack made travel unsafe and forced her to postpone the trip. Last night, Odesa was hit again as part of a wave of Russian drone attacks across Ukraine.

Ocean conservation is strongest when it reflects many perspectives, experiences, and ways of knowing. When conservation is accessible, more people can take part and become part of the solution.

We’re always working to make our programs easier for everyone to take part in. That includes the accessible shoreline cleanup happening at the end of this week, the first-person voiced assets we’re adding to our educational resources, the Whale Trail signs that help people watch whales from shore, and our travelling education programs that bring ocean learning right to communities.
