✨ MEET THE CAST: SARAH SCOTT DAVIS ✨

You already know her face. 👀

Sarah Scott Davis has been at the center of our C⭐NFEDERATES campaign from the very beginning, embodying Sandra in the images that have introduced Dominique Morisseau’s extraordinary play across Los Angeles.

Now, meet the powerhouse artist behind the campaign. 🎭

Sarah returns to the Fountain as Sandra, a tenured political science professor whose classroom, career, and carefully constructed world are thrown into question in C⭐NFEDERATES.

A seasoned stage and screen performer, Sarah previously appeared at the Fountain as Dr. Kitty Cochrane in Last Summer at Bluefish Cove. Her theatre credits also include Flyin’ West at San Diego Rep, the national tour of For Colored Girls, and Broadway’s Two Trains Running, directed by Lloyd Richards. On screen, she has appeared in HBO’s The Newsroom, Criminal Minds, The Bold & the Beautiful, A Thousand Words, Safe, and more.

She is also a playwright and solo performer whose original works include Me & My Hair and Flava of the Month.

📣 THE FOUNTAIN THEATRE IS HIRING AN AUDIENCE SERVICES MANAGER

At the Fountain, our commitment to Radical Hospitality begins well before a patron arrives at the theatre.

We’re looking for a warm, organized, resourceful Audience Services Manager to oversee our day-to-day box office and ticketing operations while leading the Front-of-House experience for performances, readings, special events, and other public programs.

This person will work across patron communication, ticket sales and exchanges, AudienceView, accessibility, performance preparation, staff and volunteer supervision, audience flow, cash handling, and all the countless details that help people feel truly welcomed and cared for.

Part-Time | Hourly | Non-Exempt
$25/hour
Approximately 10–30 hours per week, fluctuating with our production and event schedule and including evenings and weekends.

Previous theatre experience is welcome, but it isn’t the only path to this role. We encourage candidates with strong experience in hospitality, customer service, box office, retail, nonprofit, community, or other public-facing environments to apply.

Introducing Nedra Ryan Taylor, who plays SARA in C⭐NFEDERATES!

Nedra Ryan Taylor is an actress, vocalist, producer, and director originally from North Carolina. An alumna of both The Juilliard School and Howard University, she received the 2025 Craig Noel Award for Best Lead Actress in a Play from the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle for her portrayal of Esther Mills in Intimate Apparel.

Her credits include The Red Man (Ojai Playwrights Conference), The Ripple, The Wave That Carried Me Home (Luna Stage), Push Party (The Hearth), STEW (Ebony Repertory Theatre), Intimate Apparel (North Coast Repertory Theatre), Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill (Syracuse Stage), Nothing, Nothing (HERO Theatre), The First Deep Breath (Geffen Playhouse), Clyde’s (Goodman Theatre and Center Theatre Group), Perseverance (Portland Stage), and many more.

We’re thrilled to welcome Nedra for her Fountain Theatre debut this fall.

Every Friday night during C⭐NFEDERATES, the performance will be followed by a Community Conversation bringing the questions raised onstage into dialogue with the world beyond it.

Each week, we’ll welcome a different group of community voices, thinkers, artists, leaders, and experts to join the conversation around the themes at the heart of Dominique Morisseau’s play: race, gender, power, history, education, the workplace, and the systems we inherit and navigate every day.

These aren’t lectures. They’re opportunities for artists, community members, and audiences to think together about what the play opens up.

This fall, we’re opening three weekday performances of C⭐NFEDERATES to the public as Intergenerational Matinees.

You’ll experience Dominique Morisseau’s extraordinary play alongside students joining us on field trips, with the opportunity for audiences across generations to engage with the ideas the play puts into the room.

And if an 8 PM curtain isn’t your favorite thing? These performances begin at 11 AM.

Skip the evening traffic. Enjoy the show. Have the rest of your day ahead of you.

Introducing Mara Klein, who plays MISSY SUE & CANDICE in C⭐NFEDERATES!

Mara is an accomplished actor on stage & screen, most recently appearing in Season 2 of THE PITT on HBOMax. Notable stage work includes: AN OCTOROON at The Fountain Theatre, the World-Premiere of MEASURE STILL FOR MEASURE, and West-Coast premiere of THE JUDUS KISS at Boston Court Pasadena. She's also performed at: A Noise Within, The Porters of Hellsgate, Coeurage Ensemble, IAMA, Inkwell, The Road & The Echo Theatre Companies, among others.

Originally from the suburbs of Washington DC, Mara holds a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. When she’s not acting herself, she coaches fellow actors through her business Your Audition Friend: www.yourauditionfriend.com | Your Audition Friend
