South Asian mythology is filled with women who are remembered as dangerous, excessive, cursed, or transgressive.
Yet many of these same figures are also revered as queens, mothers, goddesses, and protectors.
Moving between these seemingly contradictory identities, Cursed/Consecrated asks how women become both feared and worshipped, and what these stories reveal about the societies that continue to tell them.
