Dear Rep. Elise Stefanik:

I was thrilled by your role in the Congressional hearing which led to the resignations of the now former presidents of Princeton University and Harvard University their vile testamonies.

Not so today on Meet the Press when you elected to use the word "Hostage" to describe those imprisoned for their various roles in storming our Capitol on January 6,2021.

To do so attempts to draw an equivalency where NONE exists between fully abjudicated convicted felons and those prisoners of war held in Gaza (including the unreleased bodies of their counterparts killed by Hamas). Maybe a definition may help you see how you perverted simple English. You should be ashamed.

1 a : a person held by one party in a conflict as a pledge pending the fulfillment of an agreement
b : a person taken by force to secure the taker's demands
