Today, on Indigenous Peoples Day, we honor the rich cultures, histories, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples and communities across the United States and around the world.

At Inclusion Matters by Shane�s Inspiration, we believe every child deserves to grow up in a world where their identity is respected, their voice is valued, and they have opportunities to participate and belong.

As we celebrate the diversity that strengthens our communities, we also recognize the importance of listening to Indigenous voices, honoring their heritage, and supporting a future rooted in dignity, equity, and inclusion.

On World Cerebral Palsy Day, we’re shining the spotlight on someone very special to the Inclusion Matters family: Ana Sharp!

Ana, who has cerebral palsy and a developmental disability, has been a member of our Inclusion Matters Youth Choir for the past several years, sharing her talent and joyful spirit with our community. Now, she’s taking center stage in a whole new way—starring in the new feature film Rise and Shine!

Ana plays Terri, a neurodiverse teenager with cerebral palsy and developmental delays who dreams of attending high school, making friends, gaining independence, and going to prom. Inspired by the true story and memoir Remembering Terri by Janice Steele, the film explores something at the very heart of our mission: the desire to participate, connect, and belong.

We’re especially excited that Rise and Shine embraces authentic disability representation, with Ana and several other neurodivergent cast members bringing their own lived experiences to the screen. Representation matters—not only seeing people with disabilities on screen, but giving them opportunities to tell stories in which they are fully seen.

We have watched Ana grow and shine, and we couldn’t be prouder to see her bringing this story to the big screen.

Rise and Shine opens at AMC Theatres on Friday, October 23. We hope you’ll join us in cheering on this rising star!

On World Cerebral Palsy Day, Ana reminds us what can happen when people with disabilities have opportunities to share their talents, tell their stories, and take their rightful place in the spotlight.

Today is World Cerebral Palsy Day — a day to celebrate the more than 50 million people around the world living with cerebral palsy and to advocate for greater inclusion, accessibility, and opportunity.

This year’s theme, , is a beautiful reminder that every person’s experience with CP is unique, yet together we can create a world where everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute, play, and belong.

At Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration, we see every day what happens when we remove physical and social barriers and give children of all abilities opportunities to simply be together. Inclusion doesn’t just change playgrounds—it changes perceptions, builds friendships, and strengthens communities.

We are thrilled to celebrate our Professional Advisory Board Member Stephani Victor, who has been named to the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame Class of 2026!

A five-time Paralympian, Stephani earned five Paralympic medals—two gold, two silver and one bronze—during an extraordinary 20-year racing career. She also captured four World Championship titles, 24 World Cup victories and 75 World Cup podiums, and continues to advocate for greater equality and opportunity in adaptive sports.

Stephani and her fellow Class of 2026 honorees will be formally inducted on April 10, 2027, during the U.S. Ski & Snowboard History Celebration in Ogden, Utah.

We are incredibly proud to have Stephani bring her experience, perspective and passion for inclusion to Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration as a member of our Professional Advisory Board.

Congratulations, Stephani! We’ll be cheering you on when you officially take your place in the Hall of Fame next April!

Celebrating Our Inclusion Champions this World Teachers' Day!

Today is World Teachers' Day, and we are incredibly honored to spotlight two phenomenal educators who know what true inclusion is all about.

Meet Denise Emmerson and Knarik Alajian, Special Education PALS teachers at Burbank Elementary School!

For over 15 years, Denise and Knarik have been bringing their incredible students on our Together We Are Able field trips, creating unforgettable experiences outside the classroom. In this video, they look back on this long-standing partnership with our organization and share exactly how and why inclusion works so beautifully on their campus. They remind us all that true school community has no barriers.

To Denise, Knarik, and all the special education teachers who partner with us year after year to break down walls thank you for your passion, your brilliance, and your unwavering dedication. We are so proud to stand with you in molding a more inclusive world.
