The Club was established to improve the quality of life in our neighborhood & community. Each Christmas since its inception, the Club has furnished labor and decorations for the trees lining the streets; sent representatives to LAPD Community meetings and those of the Eighth District Empowerment Congress. The Club has been instrumental in establishing a Safety Program at 42nd Street School to alle

viate unsafe parking and congestion caused by parents and others dropping off and picking up children before and after school. We tried unsuccessfully to obtain a crossing guard for the children. The Club participated in the Crenshaw Neighborhood Leadership Council Partnership Program, in association with Allstate Insurance, to obtain outside sensor lights and/or gas shut-off safety valves for club members and area residents. The Club has also been instrumental in assisting our LAPD Lead Officer in identifying and eliminating certain illegal activities in order to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood.

Who doesn't like to get rid of stuff??
Our annual block sale is just around the corner. Plan now and gather your items you will want to sell.

As mentioned at the last Block Club meeting, we'd like to have a good representation of homeowners looking to get rid of "stuff." The more homes included in the Sale, the more attention we get from passersby. :-)

Block Sale Start Time: 8am
Block Sale End Time: 1pm

COME ONE! COME ALL! Support Hot & Cool Café at the next 4th Ave Block Club Meeting, tomorrow, Sat 5/11 at 11:00a.m.

We need your help. We were able to get the rental fee waived as long as we support the Café. Please do. And encourage your neighbors to join us as well.

Please forward this email to anyone you think would like to join us.

Don’t forget......if you plan to attend tomorrow’s meeting (which I hope you do because you’ll feel better about yourself if you do) arrive early enough, say 10:30, to buy some goodies and then work your way upstairs for the meeting to start promptly at 11:00 so I can get you all out by 12:00 noon.

The meeting will be 1 hour. You know I like to keep everyone on time. :-)

We will have lots to talk about. From Legislative Issues affecting all of us, to Officer Evleth’s update to an arrest made in the recent homicide.

**Please Please Please Plan to Support the Cafe** . I was able to get the rental fee for the room we will be using on the 2nd floor waived as long as we support the Business. We want them to succeed so they stick around. So please buy some goodies and/or coffee & drinks.
