💙 Thank you to everyone who joined this month’s MCHA Monthly Meeting!

This month, we discussed the latest developments in California’s state budget negotiations and their potential impact on Medi-Cal and CalFresh. Together with Lucy Quacinella of Multiforum Advocacy Solutions, we explored key policy updates, shared insights on protecting access to essential health and nutrition programs, and discussed strategies to support low-income families and communities across California.

We also received important Medi-Cal and CalFresh benefit updates from MCHA staff, helping participants stay informed about changes affecting the individuals and families they serve.

These conversations matter. Through policy, advocacy, collaboration, and community engagement, we can help protect vital programs and improve health outcomes for Californians. ❤️

It is that time once again! Join us for our monthly Community Health & Resource Hub at South LA Cafe THIS SATURDAY to connect with free health services, community resources, and local partners.

🗓️ Saturday, June 13
⏰ 11 AM - 2 PM

Free services available include blood sugar and blood pressure checks, consultations with a healthcare provider, assistance signing up for low-cost internet and phone services, enrollment for medically tailored meal delivery programs and senior care programs, free brake light replacements, and more!

The first 50 attendees will receive a $20 grocery store gift card on a first-come, first-served basis.

This month, we focused on Maternal Mental Health and the urgent need to address maternal health disparities across California. Together with presentations from the California Perinatal Wellness Alliance and the CDPH MIHA Program, we explored critical data, shared insights, and discussed solutions that can improve care for pregnant individuals and families with recent births.

These conversations matter. Through policy, advocacy, and collaboration, we can create healthier communities and stronger outcomes for all. 💕
