Your impact is evident even at the fire station.

Through the Foundation’s Adopt-A-Fire-Station program, donor support has helped transform Fire Station 10 and other stations with updated flooring, new washers and dryers, and fitness equipment.

Your donations don’t just make stations better places to live and work. They help equip firefighters to be proactive, prepared, and ready for whatever emergency comes their way.

And this is just one example of your impact.

📣Introducing July’s Firefighter of the Month: Firefighter/Paramedic Cristian Reynoso from Fire Station 17.

For Reynoso, the philosophy of “leaving things better than you found them” has shaped both his career and his life.

Inspired by his high school football coach, who was also a firefighter, Reynoso pursued firefighting while working at In-N-Out, completing EMT and paramedic school, and gaining experience as an auxiliary firefighter.

His journey to the LAFD wasn’t easy. After facing hiring freezes and plenty of people telling him not to bother, Reynoso stayed focused and continued pursuing his goal. In 2018, he was hired by the LAFD.

Now serving at Fire Station 17 in the Industrial Eastside, Reynoso continues to find ways to improve his station and support the next generation of firefighters. At the heart of everything he does are his wife and two sons, and his commitment to helping people on their worst days.

What does a firefighter’s day actually look like? 🧑‍🚒🔥

While on shift, your remain ready to respond 24/7. When they’re not on emergency calls, they’re training, working out, maintaining equipment, and sharing meals together.

Every part of the day is spent staying ready for the next emergency.

Wharf fires are some of the most challenging incidents firefighters respond to. 🌊🔥

Hidden fire beneath docks, limited access, and waterfront conditions require specialized equipment and highly trained crews.

That’s where the LAFD’s Dive Team comes in. At Fire Station 49, these firefighter/divers are constantly training for marine emergencies, including boat fires, water rescues, fuel spills, and underwater operations.

Thanks to donor support, the LAFD’s Arson Section is better equipped for every incident.

From ladders and scene lighting to specialized tools and equipment, your support helped outfit the Arson Section’s new response rigs with the resources they need to investigate arson scenes and remain on-site for extended operations.

Your support helps ensure our investigators have the equipment they need when it matters most.

Thank you for making a real impact.❤️🚒
