One thing about firefighters: they LOVE their coffee 🙂‍↕️☕️🔥

We asked the crew at Fire Station 93 how many cups they've had today.

Ever wonder what firefighters did before they wore the badge? 🤔

We asked LAFD firefighters about the jobs they had before becoming firefighters, and the answers might surprise you. 🚒

Seeing our LAFD firefighters show love to our content never gets old. 🥹🫶

We love seeing our members engage with the content we create! Every like, share, laugh, and cameo helps us spread the word about the LAFD Foundation and the work we do.

We’re so grateful for the support from our firefighters, both on and off camera!

📣Introducing August’s Firefighter of the Month: Firefighter Wyatt Hoyt from Fire Station 11.

For Hoyt, serving Los Angeles has always been more than a career - it’s a calling.

He joined the Cadet Program at just 16 years old, and after experiencing his first structure fire as a Cadet, he knew he was meant to become a firefighter. Today, he serves at Fire Station 11, where he continues to give back to the community that inspired him from a young age.

Hoyt credits the Cadet Program and the mentors he’s had along the way for helping shape his career, and remains committed to training, teamwork, and making a difference on someone’s worst day.

“It’s a calling for me, not a career,” Hoyt emphasizes. “I don’t have to show up to work every day; I want to show up for work every day. That’s why I’m here.”

They show up for Los Angeles every single day. Now it’s our turn to show up for them.

Firefighters spend more than a third of their lives at the station, but 50% of LAFD fire stations are more than 50 years old and haven’t been updated in decades.

Through the Adopt-A-Fire-Station program, community support helps transform these spaces into safe, functional homes away from home.

Because of LAFD Foundation donors, Air Operations utilizes technology and equipment that support some of ’s most specialized rescues.

From modernized flight tracking systems and night vision goggles to portable helicopter starters and the harnesses used to hoist people from rough terrain and fast-moving waters, your support helps Air Operations respond when and where they’re needed most.

Join us for the livestream of “A Stronger LAFD: Because of You,” highlighting all the ways you have helped LAFD firefighters stay prepared to keep Los Angeles safe.
