CIRCUMCISION: A SHAMEFUL EXPERIMENT - Circumcision is more than a scar or a memory. The physicians who inflicted Ge***al Surgery on our nation's sons are ignorant of history, ethics, psychology, sociology, anthropology, religion, and physiology, among so many others areas of human knowledge they never read or study in their lives. In the 19th century, they announced that circumcision would cure ma
********on, and proceeded to inflict it on tens of millions of babies in the ensuing century, merely changing their cover story during the intervening years, so that by the time their mangled explanation reached our ears, it was nothing more than a blessing, a gift from them to us. The doctors knew nothing of human nature, society, or culture, and supposed they could inflict this horror on a nation without consequence because it has been done to so many boys and girls throughout history, for purported religious and cultural reasons. What they didn't realize, in the darkness of their zealotry, was that traditional ge***al mutilation of boys and girls always had a social context, a public declaration of fealty to a group or religion, and THAT context was vital to its implementation, acceptance, and perpetuity. American hospital circumcision, on the other hand, was a secret, a shameful surgery that parents would never tell their sons (or daughters) about, because the excuses for it are so preposterous, irrational, and contradictory, that silence is the only method to ensure its perpetuation into the next generation. Silence worked until men became aware of the wound, and together with the women in their lives, began speaking out, and then the circumcisers howled, "HOW DARE YOU TELL OUR CHILDREN WHAT WE DID TO THEM." There is no rule book for history, but, if there were, the circumcisers would understand that they violated a cardinal rule of human life.... don't do something to people that you need to keep secret from them, because when they find out, there will be social upheaval on a scale you never anticipated, and you lack the intelligence to contain it.
