Today is - and we are asking for your help.
One year ago Billy and Tina were secretly removed from the Los Angeles Zoo and sent to the Tulsa Zoo despite overwhelming public calls for sanctuary.
Tina’s health is now declining at 60 years old, and Billy continues to struggle with the psychological damage caused by decades in captivity.
Billy, Tina, and all elephants, belong in the wild - not behind bars. Give them the sanctuary they deserve.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
LCA is looking for volunteers in Tulsa, OK, who are willing to peacefully protest at the Tulsa Zoo, with a focus on the elephants.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering can send an email to: [email protected]. LCA can supply any needed protest materials, answer general questions, and give protest advice.
Here are some basic tips to get started:
• Create a Facebook event page to get the word out.
• Protest at the zoo entrance.
• Tell your local newspaper, TV news station, and radio station about your protest.
• Be polite and respectful; do not engage with anti-protesters.
• Keep focused and stay strong. Remember that change does not happen overnight and you are there for the animals.
• Take photos of your protest, post on social media, and tag LCA.
Thank you for taking action for the animals.
