On Monday, we welcomed an extraordinary group of new Medical Scholars into the Foundation’s annual mentorship program. Over the next three weeks, these students will explore a wide range of medical disciplines through lectures, hands-on training in surgical knot tying, laboratory experiences, surgical observations, physician shadowing, and so much more.

Already, the scholars’ curiosity, passion, and determination have been impossible to miss. It is clear that these future healthcare leaders are not only exceptionally bright, but deeply motivated to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

To our families, donors, mentors, and supporters, thank you. Your belief in these students and this program creates opportunities that can truly change the trajectory of a young person’s life. Every lesson learned, every experience gained, and every moment of growth is made possible by a community that chooses to invest in the next generation.

This is only the beginning of the 2026 Medical Scholars Program journey!

During the Osborne Head and Neck Foundation Impact Mission Ghana in October 2025, volunteers supported an incredible orphanage community through hands-on projects designed to create lasting impact.

They built a brand-new basketball court, installed two hoops, and added a 4-square court to give kids more space to play and connect. Volunteers also crafted custom wood benches and constructed a pergola to provide shade during outdoor activities.

A key part of the mission was renovating the infirmary, an essential space for children when they’re not feeling well, making it more functional, welcoming, and less intimidating.

Small changes, built with care, can make a big difference in everyday life.

Rose shares her story of connecting with the OHNF Medical Mission in Ghana. Rose first reached out to Dr. Osborne from Uganda in 2019, but the COVID pandemic delayed her plans for treatment. In 2025, she saw an update from the Osborne Head and Neck Foundation about the Ghana Medical Mission and felt a renewed sense of possibility. Determined and hopeful, Rose began planning her trip to finally meet the team and pursue the surgery she needs. The Mission's full length video will be released soon.

The Osborne Head & Neck Foundation (OHNF) Medical Academy continues to support and inspire future medical professionals, and it is always a joy to see the paths its students take.

Alexandra Lunich, Class of the 2018 Medical Scholars Program, recently shared a meaningful life update that reflects both dedication and heart. After graduating from Notre Dame Academy, Alexandra earned a full-ride scholarship to Texas Christian University, where she studied Biology along with minors in Sociology and Cultural Awareness in Healthcare.

Inspired early on by her experience with the OHNF, Alexandra developed a deep passion for global health. She pursued this calling through medical mission trips, leadership in a global health club, and research at the National Institutes of Health.

Today, Alexandra is a medical student at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she continues to lead and serve. As President of her campus global health club, she remains committed to making a difference and expanding access to care around the world.

She still carries with her the inspiration she found through Dr. Osborne and the Medical Scholars Program, proof that encouragement and mentorship can leave a lasting impact.

We couldn’t be prouder of Alexandra and all she continues to accomplish. 💙

If you believe in nurturing the next generation of compassionate healthcare leaders, consider supporting the Osborne Head & Neck Foundation Medical Academy and the students it empowers.

The LA Big 5K and LA Charity Half Marathon are more than races to us at the Osborne Head and Neck Foundation, they are a snapshot of what community really looks like.
This is the heart of the Foundation: MSP students, learning and growing alongside our team, Laney, our loyal service dog who’s been part of the journey for years… and Dr. Osborne’s own kids running right beside everyone else.
It’s a reminder that this work brings together every part of life — patients, students, volunteers, families, and friends — all moving in the same direction. Together we run, walk, and show up for one another while supporting life-changing head and neck medical care for people who need it most.
That’s the spirit of the Osborne Head and Neck Foundation. Purpose in motion. 💙

Day Two in Accra! 🇬🇭

Our triage clinic is in full swing, and today was spent preparing patients for surgery while beginning local procedures. Much of our focus was on ensuring the operating rooms are fully equipped and ready for the first surgeries tomorrow.

The team at the Impact site made great progress on day one’s projects. They began working on the two pergolas we’ll be building by digging and framing out the footings for each one. Also, a 4-foot-deep hole was dug for the base of the basketball hoop, filled with concrete, and fitted with the anchor that will hold the hoop in place. The kids at the orphanage were so excited to meet our team on their day off from school that they decided to join in. They helped us dig, carry materials, and shared laughter along the way. Their smiles and energy brought so much joy to the day and reminded us of the heart behind every project. 💛

Each day here is a humbling experience — a reminder of how much can be accomplished when compassion, community, and purpose come together. We’re honored to be part of this journey.
