G.N.O.C. (Girl's Night Out Club)

G.N.O.C. (Girl's Night Out Club) I had an epiphany! Wow! Wouldn’t it be great if I could have all my girlfriends in one place! sharin G.N.O.C. sharing a meal and conversation at least once a month!

Acronym for” Girl’s Night Out” was birth for ME 1987 as an idea that deprived from wanting all my girlfriends to meet each other. Mainly, because I have been blessed to have so many wonderful women in my life, whom have heard me speak of each other in conversation over the years, but who had never met in person…But, knew each other by name through me…
So, I had an epiphany! Thus, was born G.N.O.C.

for me! has now taken on a life of its own and means so many different things to each individual group. Our was meant to be used as a catalyst …a vehicle that brought us together, to share and up lift each other, to edify and encourage each other…all over a good meal and a glass of wine (or soda…whatever you do…do YOU)… each lady was encourage to bring in a friend they felt would fit the groups criteria…Oh! I have to tell you what the groups’ criteria is: It’s DRAMA FREE!! Only positive, loving, down to earth, authentic beings (meaning non-pretentious, not fake bourgeois) and kind spirits are welcome…NO DRAMA QUEENS. Each core group lady was assign a month which she would find a great restaurant for us to meet and catch up with what’s happening in our lives in a great relaxing ambiance...all while partaking of a good meal and full of fun and informative conversation and laughter!… Each lady would bring a personal friend with her that she wanted to share this precious “gem” which we had formed and who met the above criteria… and soon they would be added to our group which eventual grew and the faces changed over the course of 10 years! To date, most of our original member are married and have had children and 90% of us are still in contact…that a good thing! So, now here we are now, over 25 years later as moms …no longer single women…only a few are…I thought about changing the name to M.N.O.C. (Mom’s Night Out Club)…but, nawww…It’s still befitting our spirits…we’re forever young at heart…always a girl in our spirit…girls who love life, a good time …girls who still like to dress up and laugh out loud…girls who rule our own little corner of this world!! Forever G.N.O.C.

Kicking the weekend off by doing something I haven't done in a YEAR... I went out for breakfast!!!

Met my dear friend Selma, whose a part of the ole' G.N.O.C. (Girls Night Out Club) comrades ....
Selma and I met for breakfast at the Coffee Co, which has one of the BEST homestyle BREAKFAST in LA. ..walking distance from my home.
We had a great time going down memory land, catching up and lotsa laughing! I hadn't seen her in about 5 years! Though we have kept in contact via texts and phone calls...Enjoyed the reconnect and we pledged to keep it up!

The enslavement, inhumane treatments; lynchings, ra**ng, shooting, victims of terrorism and massacres.. are only a few atrocities which Black people have endure for over 400 years that are crimes against humanity. Therefore, is looong OVERDUE in being recognized as such, and be justly categorized and globally recognized as an humanitarian crisis in our nation- PERIODT!
