100원 동전 모아서 볼리비아에 학교를 짓고,
이제는 제 3국에 병원을 짓기 위해 힘과 마음을 모으고 있는
꽃거지 한영준.
그가 2016년 12월, LAPD 한 지국에서 뽀꼬뽀꼬 마을 아이들의 모습을 담은 사진전시회를 열때 엘에이 각지에서 그를 위해 마음을 연 청년들이 행사를 돕기 위해 알음알음 모였었다.
단 하루의 신기루 같았던 사진전시회가 끝나고
그 행사를 신기루처럼 함께 치뤄낸 청년들이
이대로 흩어지기엔 너무나 아쉽다는 마음들을 모았다.
한국에서부터 찾아온 허그인이 나눔을 실천하는 방식,
허그인을 통해 만난 영화 "Pay if forward"의 동명원작소설 작가 Catherine Ryan Hyde와의 만남에서 받은 영감,
한꽃거지를 통해 만난 세계여행자 박재병군의 어드바이스와
청년
들의 뜻이 만나 블루리본이 탄생했다.
블루리본은 자체의 프로젝트가 없다.
세상에는 너무나 감사하게도 이미 나눔을 실천하는 사람들이 많다.
우리는 이미 남을 돕고 있는 사람들을 돕는 것이다.
앞서도 설명했지만 이제 더 큰 나눔을 위해 여전히 쉽지 않은 한걸음 한걸음을 내딛고 있는 영준이.
멕시칸 정착촌의 아이들을 음악 재능 기부를 통해 나눔을 실천했던 준이.
말라위에서 치과의사로서 에이즈로 일그러진 턱뼈, 잇몸을 치료해주던 힘찬이.
이 청년들이 가까이에 있을때 각자의 깜량대로 섬기는 것이
바로 블루리본이 나누는 방식이다.
내가 받은 도움을 잊지 않고 작은 것이라도 계속해서 나누다 보면
이 세상이 조금 더 나은 세상이 될 것이라는 믿음.
그것이 블루리본이 지향하는 "Pay it forward"의 정신이다.
우리는 오늘도 노력한다.
더뎌도 조금씩 전진하는 한사람 한사람의 인생이 모여
전진하는 공동체가 되고,
전진하는 사회, 세상이 될 것을 믿는 믿음으로...
Our story begins with the story of the Flower Begger, Young-Jun Han, who built a school in Bolivia with the dimes donated by others and now planning to build a hospital in a third world with the same gathered hands of the warm hearted. In November 2016, many gathered together at the LAPD exhibition of the photos of the children in Bolivia to encourage and participate in this great service. Like a dream the exhibition was finished, and the people who gathered did not want to end this relationship with just one event. Through the way how Hug-in from Korea spreads the sharing of good, how the movie “Pay It Forward” and meeting the author Catherine Ryan Hyde inspired us, and with the advice of the world-wide traveler Jaebyeong Park, we gathered together to make Blue Ribbon become real. There are already many great people out there putting good in action. We help those people who help others. For Young-Jun who is sharing big with the small but great dimes gathered by others,
Jun who volunteers to share his talent in music to the children of farm workers in the farm villages,
and David who as a dentist treated patients who were suffering many oral complications with AIDS in Malawi,
we help and share with whatever we have when they come inside our boundaries of life. As we not forget what we have been giving, and continue to share with others whether big or small, we believe that this world will become a better place to live. That is the spirit of “Pay It Forward” that us Blue Ribbon shares and aim for. Today we make another effort. We may be slow, but we will make a step forward each and every day,
truly believing that we will make a better community, a better society, and a better world.
