Greetings friends!
When I started this group, it was in Vallejo, Ca. At the time, I had intended it to only be a filmmakers group for folks in the Bay Area, specifically Vallejo.
I gave my everything, while living in Vallejo, try to make this into a thriving business, professional, non-profit.
When I received a settlement from being struck by a car, I immediately applied for a business name, I attempted to file a business license, I rented a store front, purchased business insurance, and registered with the B.B.B!
It was as exciting moment of time.
Thought it was intended to be an affordable video production center, there turned out to be a need for a community center. So that is what that space became primarily rented for.
Fast forward, I wasn’t able to maintain the storefront, or my home. A person that was living above me, started a kitchen fire, and my apartment became completely flooded. The entire complex was out of power for a week.
Everyone decided to stay, even though there was now power, I went to a shelter, provided by the Red Cross.
Since that day, I had been been able to recover, until recently.
When I moved to LA, that is when this group became what it is now.
All my life I have always been a service to others. It is what makes my soul happy.
This group has room for so much potential. ...
Recently, I had made an error in judgement, and unfortunately, will greatly hinder the goals, dreams, I had for really bringing this group to the level it can be.
This group is not meant to be the top of any groups, stand-out, or the “best,” but the hope is to be impactful, inclusive, and uplifting.
That takes a team.
The dream is to be able to compensate the team, and so forth.
However, my error, has cost me the ability to really move forward, as I have hoped.
No, not throwing in the towel, but I believe in open, honest, and continuous dialogue, so here I am.
Please keep sharing your happenings, and I will keep pushing them, as I see them.
As you start to get vaccinated, please continue to get testing! Even though you are “safe,” you can still carry.
Please don’t ever give up on your dreams. If someone tells you something can’t be done, it’s because they have reached the limits of their imagination. Your truth is your voice, and your voice matters! Share your truth. Share your worlds. Stay creating and stay amazing!
