We hosted a Business Structure & Formalization Event in partnership with Rhema Central Church, bringing together small business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, and families from low-to-moderate income communities for an engaging conversation about starting and formalizing a business. The event focused on simplifying a topic that can often feel overwhelming and helping participants understand that they do not need to have everything figured out before taking the first step.

Participants learned about the differences between common business structures, including sole proprietorships, LLCs, S corporations, and corporations, while gaining a better understanding of how choosing the right structure can impact their business. The discussion also emphasized practical steps entrepreneurs can take to move their ideas forward and build a strong foundation as their businesses grow.

We were grateful to be joined by Lucia from SBDC, Rick Lozano from Banc of California, Ricardo Carrillo from First Citizens Bank, and Rosie and Isaac from Royal Business Bank, who shared their expertise as panelists and helped make the conversation practical and engaging. Their insights, combined with an incredible turnout from the community, made the event a valuable opportunity to encourage more entrepreneurs to take that first step toward turning their ideas into successful businesses.

We were proud to donate 12 bicycles to the CTE Bike Tech program at Firebaugh High School, helping provide students with hands-on resources to support their career and technical education. The donation gives students an opportunity to work directly with bicycles as part of their learning experience while developing practical skills that can translate into future educational and career opportunities.

Through this contribution, we were able to support a program that combines technical education, hands-on learning, and career development, giving students valuable experience beyond the traditional classroom. Providing students with the tools and materials they need is an important part of creating meaningful pathways into the workforce and future careers.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support Firebaugh High School and its Bike Tech program and to contribute resources that can help students strengthen their technical skills, explore career interests, and gain valuable hands-on experience they can carry with them into the future.

We continued our financial literacy series with Heart of Compassion, delivering the third workshop for community members focused on Investing 101. The session introduced participants to the fundamentals of investing and emphasized how long-term planning can help individuals build wealth and achieve greater financial security.

During the workshop, participants learned the difference between saving and investing, the power of compound growth, common investment options, and the importance of starting early and investing consistently. The discussion also explored how investing can support long-term goals such as retirement, homeownership, and financial independence, while helping attendees better understand the relationship between risk and reward.

We were grateful to have Eli Rodriguez from Banc of California join us to lead the workshop and share his professional expertise. His real-world insights and practical guidance made the session engaging and informative, giving participants greater confidence and a stronger understanding of how investing can play an important role in building a secure financial future.

At Avance Latino we recently hosted an amazing Homeownership Event at our headquarters, and the turnout was an incredible reminder of just how vital these events are.

Navigating the homebuying process can feel overwhelming, but bringing families together with trusted experts bridges the gap between a distant dream and a real, achievable reality. Giving community members the practical tools to navigate credit, mortgages, and down payment assistance changes lives, builds generational wealth, and strengthens our neighborhoods.

This impactful work simply does not happen in a vacuum. We are profoundly grateful to the outstanding partners who volunteered their time and poured their expertise into our community. By showing up, sharing their knowledge, and offering personalized guidance, they transformed a complex financial process into a welcoming, empowering experience for everyone who walked through our doors.

A special thank you to Zhemyr Diaz and William Ruiz from JPMorgan Chase, Edi Flores from HSBC, Laura Monteon from Banner Bank, Virgil Flowers from Columbia Bank, Matthias & Harold Rodriguez from City National Bank. Your commitment helped local families take a confident next step toward one of life’s biggest milestones, and we are deeply honored to partner with you.

Shoutout to Carlos Rincon for putting together such an amazing video, capturing the impact of this event!

We proudly hosted our annual Homeownership Fair at our headquarters, bringing together prospective homebuyers, families, and trusted financial professionals for an afternoon focused on making homeownership more accessible. The event provided attendees with the opportunity to learn about the homebuying process, explore available resources, and receive guidance from industry experts in a welcoming and supportive environment. We were excited to see a great turnout from community members eager to take the next step toward achieving homeownership.

Throughout the fair, attendees connected with banking professionals and housing experts to learn about down payment assistance programs, mortgage options, credit preparation, and the financial steps needed to purchase a home. Participants were able to ask questions, receive personalized guidance, and gain practical knowledge that will help them navigate the homebuying journey with greater confidence.

This event would not have been possible without the support of our outstanding partners. We extend our sincere thanks to Zhemyr and William from JPMorgan Chase, Edi from HSBC, Laura from Banner Bank, Virgil from Columbia Bank, and Matthias and Harold from City National Bank for volunteering their time and sharing their expertise with our community. Their commitment helped make this year's Homeownership Fair a valuable and impactful resource for families working toward one of life's most important milestones.

We had a great time at Cal Poly Pomona for Financial Literacy Day, where we had the opportunity to speak with college students about common financial mistakes and the habits that can help build long-term financial success.

From avoiding lifestyle inflation to understanding the power of starting early, our goal was to remind students that building wealth isn’t about being perfect—it’s about developing the discipline to make smart financial decisions over time. Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation, shared their questions, and made it such a meaningful discussion. We look forward to continuing to bring these resources to students!

We’re grateful for partners like Citizens Business Bank who invest their time and expertise into the next generation of entrepreneurs. It was incredible to see students confidently pitch their business ideas, answer tough questions, and present their vision in front of judges, classmates, and their families.

Experiences like these help students build confidence, strengthen their communication skills, and take their first steps toward turning great ideas into reality. Thank you to everyone who helped make Shark Tank Night such a meaningful experience!
