People Resources and Conservation Foundation (PRCF) Working with people to protect their natural environment We, therefore, advocate community involvement and environmental conservation in all of our programs.

At People Resources and Conservation Foundation (PRCF), we promote biodiversity conservation, protection and wise use of natural resources, and the sound socio-economic development of rural communities. A non-profit organization, we currently concentrate our conservation and development work in Indonesia and Vietnam, previously having worked in Myanmar, Cambodia, and Thailand. We focus on rural la

ndscapes where people live near protected areas, high conservation value forests, and degraded lands with high potential for rehabilitation. One of our main objectives is to help local ethnic minority communities become involved in natural resource management to address important species and habitat conservation needs, while at the same time reaching sustainable livelihoods. We carry out conservation programs that target threatened species--like the Sumatran Tiger, Tapanuli Orangutan, Helmeted Hornbill, Tomistoma Crocodile and their habitat, and cultural programs that target the revitalization of ancestral arts through the knowledge of elders. We realize that local communities are integral to the success of nature conservation and community development work.

The population of the globally endangered Francois' Langur in the northern Vietnamese province of Tuyen Quang continues to grow thanks to the direct involvement of local communities in its protection, and the endorsement of community-based measures by the provincial Forest Protection Department.

A mid-2020 population survey counted 105 adults, 26 juveniles, and eight infants in mainly 20 family groups. We hope to conduct a mid-2022 survey to monitor changes in the population and group movements in the landscape.

Please partner with us and support the community-based conservation endeavor, by contributing via the following link https://prcfoundation.org/support/donate/. All level of contribution is valuable, and 100% of your contribution will go towards direct protection of the gorgeous Francois' Langur. All contributing partners will receive an annual update on the status of the langur population and news about their protection.

Our new conservation endeavours in North Sumatra, Indonesia.

A shoestring expedition to one of the remotest places in Sumatra has returned with stunning photos of tigers, tapirs, clouded leopards among other rare species, large and small. Will they find orangutans next?
