פגשתי את דורון אלמוג דווקא באחת התקופות המאתגרות והמטלטלות ביותר בחיי, זמן שבו הלב חיפש אחיזה, משמעות ואור בתוך מציאות לא פשוטה. המפגש איתו ועם רעייתו, וההיכרות עם סיפור חייהם השזור בכאב עמוק, באובדן בלתי נתפס ובבחירה יומיומית להמשיך ליצור טוב בעולם, טלטלו אותי מבפנים ולימדו אותי שיעור שלא ניתן ללמוד במילים בלבד.
מולם הבנתי עד כמה כוחו של אדם גדול ממה שהוא מדמיין, עד כמה אפשר לקום מתוך שבר, לבחור בתקווה כשהנשמה פצועה, ולהפוך אבל אישי לשליחות שמאירה חיים של אחרים. הם גרמו לי לראות מחדש גם את עצמי, את היכולת שלי להמשיך, לבנות, לאהוב, להאמין ולעשות טוב גם כשנדמה שאין עוד כוח. ובתוך כל זה גיליתי אמת עמוקה ושקטה, כמה טוב וקדוש הוא הרגע שבו נוצרת חברות של חיים שלמים דווקא באמצע הדרך, מתוך מפגש של נשמות שכבר עברו כאב, אובדן ומסע חיים, חברות נקייה ממסכות, מלאה בהבנה ובחמלה, וידיעה שאנחנו לא צועדים לבד.
ובתוך המסע הזה אני מודה על זכות גדולה נוספת שניתנה לי, יחד עם אנשים מקסימים בעדי נגב נחלת ערן, מקום שהוא לא פחות מנס אנושי חי. מקום שמזכיר לכולנו מהי אנושיות אמיתית, מהי ראיית האחר, ומהי היכולת לבנות עולם של כבוד, הכלה ואהבה ללא תנאים. בעיניי, זו חובה לכל אדם להגיע, לראות, להרגיש ולהבין את העוצמה שקיימת שם.
הזכות להיות חלק מהקמת קבוצת הכדורסל “רעים”, על שם עמותת “רעים”, בתוך המקום המופלא הזה, היא זכות שאין לה מילים. קבוצה שמסמלת יותר מכל כוח רוח, שייכות, אמונה באדם וניצחון הלב, קבוצה שנולדה מתוך ערכים של נתינה, הכלה ואמונה שאין גבול למה שהרוח האנושית יכולה להשיג.
ולמי שמבקש להבין באמת את עומק הרוח הזו, אני מאמינה שזו חובה לצפות בסרט התיעודי “בין 7 לאוקטובר ל-7 באוקטובר”. הסרט מגולל את סיפורו של אלוף (מיל’) דורון אלמוג, חתן פרס ישראל ויו”ר הסוכנות היהודית, אדם הנושא עימו 52 שנות שכול אישי ממלחמת יום כיפור ועד לאירועי 7 באוקטובר 2023. בהפקת קשת תקשורת ובימויה של שרית אסנפי, ובכתיבתה של סימה קדמון, נפרש דיוקן נדיר של מנהיג שבוחר פעם אחר פעם להעניק תקווה, למרות הטרגדיות האישיות שעיצבו את חייו.
הרגעים האלה מזכירים לי עד כמה עשייה משותפת יכולה לרפא, לחבר ולבנות עתיד טוב יותר, כמה כוח יש לאנשים שבוחרים לראות יכולת במקום מגבלה, תקווה במקום כאב, וניצחון של רוח האדם מעל כל אתגר. אני מודה על הזכות לצעוד בדרך הזו יחד, לבנות, לחלום ולהאמין שהאור שאנחנו יוצרים היום ימשיך להאיר עוד שנים רבות קדימה.

I met Doron Almog during one of the most challenging and turbulent periods of my life, a time when my heart was searching for grounding, meaning, and light within a difficult reality. Meeting him and his wife, and learning about their life story, woven with profound pain, unimaginable loss, and a daily choice to continue creating good in the world, moved me deeply and taught me a lesson that cannot truly be learned through words alone.
Through them, I understood how great a person’s strength truly is, how one can rise from brokenness, choose hope even when the soul is wounded, and transform personal grief into a mission that brings light to others. They made me see myself differently, to recognize my own ability to continue, to build, to love, to believe, and to do good even when it feels like there is no strength left. And within all of this, I discovered a deeper truth, how beautiful and sacred it is when lifelong friendships are formed in the middle of the journey, not at the beginning, but through the meeting of souls that have already experienced pain, loss, and life’s path, a friendship without masks, filled with understanding, compassion, and the quiet knowing that we are not walking alone.
Within this journey, I am also deeply grateful for another great privilege that was given to me, together with incredible people at ADI Negev Nahalat Eran, a place that is nothing short of a living human miracle. A place that reminds us what true humanity is, what it means to truly see another person, and what it means to build a world of dignity, inclusion, and unconditional love. In my opinion, it is something every person must experience, to see, to feel, and to truly understand the profound power that exists there.
Being part of the establishment of the basketball team “Re’im,” named after the “Re’im” association, within this extraordinary place, is a privilege beyond words. A team that symbolizes, more than anything, the strength of spirit, belonging, faith in humanity, and the victory of the human heart, a team born from values of giving, inclusion, and the belief that there is no limit to what the human spirit can achieve.
And for anyone who truly wants to understand the depth of this spirit, I believe it is essential to watch the documentary “Between October 7 and October 7.” The film tells the story of Major General (Res.) Doron Almog, Israel Prize laureate and Chairman of the Jewish Agency, a man who has carried 52 years of personal bereavement from the Yom Kippur War to the events of October 7, 2023. Produced by Keshet Communications, directed by Sarit Assenafi, and written by Sima Kadmon, it presents a rare portrait of a leader who continues, time and again, to bring hope despite the personal tragedies that shaped his life.
These moments remind me how deeply shared action can heal, connect, and build a better future. How powerful it is when people choose to see ability instead of limitation, hope instead of pain, and the triumph of the human spirit above all challenges. I am grateful for the privilege to walk this path together, to build, to dream, and to believe that the light we create today will continue to shine for many years to come.
