Last weekend, while on his current tour with Jennifer Hudson, FYLF Founder Josh Groban attended the BMP Block Party — hosted by Grantee the Boston Music Project Over 350 youth from BMP programs across Boston participated alongside teaching artists for a record breaking day of music and community!

For decades, Elliot Eisner challenged educators to think beyond test scores and traditional measures of achievement. 📝

🔬His groundbreaking research demonstrated that the arts cultivate essential forms of thinking and understanding that cannot be captured by standardized assessments alone.

Eisner's concept of🎭 "forms of representation" helped establish a new understanding of literacy—one that values the many ways humans create meaning through visual art, music, dance, theater, and other artistic practices.

Today, his ideas continue to shape how we advocate for arts education as an essential part of every student's learning journey.

For decades, Wynton Marsalis has been one of the arts’ most influential advocates for education — championing the idea that music and creativity are essential parts of a young person’s development, not optional ones.

When students have the opportunity to learn from working artists, they gain more than technical skills. They gain confidence. Representation. Encouragement. A vision of what’s possible for their future.
