YBA and Home Field Advantage Sports and Business for Youth Coalition is entering its third year at Animo Compton Charter High School, a Green Dot Public School.

We are proud to share a quote from one of our students "I’m starting to be more happy with myself and really start to care about my health, not just physical health but mental health too. It all boosted since week one, and I’m happy and can’t wait to continue and grow more."

Afterschool programs like SBYC extend learning beyond the classroom and allow students to take on leadership roles.

Johnny currently works at AppFolio, where he leads event technology strategy and helps manage the systems and platforms that support their events. With his background in event production, AV, and global event operations, he brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to the YBA Community Board.

In collaboration with ExpandLA’s “Back to AFTER School Campaign,” YBA and Home Field Advantage Sports are highlighting our Sports & Business for Youth program! The program combines sports, leadership, and career exploration, allowing students to build skills while learning about careers in the sports industry.

LA’s programs illuminate youth’s full potential by promoting leadership and helping them expand their horizons.

YBA and Centinela Valley Union High School District completed a successful pilot summer camp at Leuzinger High School!

Over two weeks, students stepped into the role of entrepreneurs, visiting Rare Beauty and Pioneer Industries, developing business ideas, and pitching their concepts. They also put their financial skills to the test during our Market Money Watch competition.

Congratulations to Girl’s Ready and Celeste M.S., our competition winners, for their hard work and dedication!

A special thank you to Marlon, Tony, Shanice, Caesar, and Ms. Green for helping make this pilot camp possible and supporting our students every step of the way.

Congratulations to our YBA Summer Camp students on their successful Shark Tank pitches!

Each team developed innovative projects centered around accessibility, and our judges were incredibly impressed by the creativity, thoughtfulness, and impact behind their ideas.

A huge thank you to our judges, Linda Maldonado, Maggie Holly, and Steve Cedrone, for sharing their time and expertise with our students.

YBA students from Centinela Valley Union High School District recently visited Pioneer Industries, where they learned about the manufacturing process, the importance of building trust with customers, and the role a strong company culture plays in long term success.

YBA students are back at Google! Our summer camp students, hosted at the USC Marshall School of Business, visited Google's Spruce Goose Campus.

A huge thank you to Olivia for inviting us back for another incredible visit! Students heard from Googlers about careers in Human Resources, Product Management, and Google Play, gaining insight into the many career paths available in the tech.

Every time our students visit Google, they leave more inspired and excited about their futures.

Thank you, Olivia, for continuing to invest in and inspire the next generation!

Thank you to the Rare Beauty team for hosting YBA summer camp students for the third year in a row!

This year, YBA launched a pilot summer camp in partnership with Centinela Valley Union High School District, and our students had the opportunity to visit Rare Beauty and learn about the many career paths within the beauty industry.

The Rare team always goes above and beyond, teaching our students about the chemistry behind cosmetics, regulatory affairs, and fragrance development.

A special thank you to Pauline, Claire, and the entire Rare Beauty team for organizing such an incredible visit and for your continued support of our students!
