Happy Holidays from Voices Beyond Assault 🎄

The holiday season looks different for everyone. For some, it’s filled with warmth and celebration. For others, it brings loneliness, grief, or painful reminders.

If you’re struggling this season - whether you’re spending it alone, navigating difficult family dynamics, missing someone you’ve lost, or just feeling worn down by the weight of it all - we see you. Your feelings are valid. Your pain is real. And you are not alone.
Your resilience matters, even when you feel like you’re barely holding on.

To our entire community - survivors, supporters, and everyone walking their own difficult path - may you find moments of peace, unexpected comfort, and gentle reminders that you are seen, valued, and loved.

You matter. Today and every day.

Six women. Seven charges. Two decades.
UK prosecutors announced today that comedian Russell Brand now faces additional charges of r**e and sexual assault involving two more women, bringing the total to 6 survivors and 7 criminal counts spanning allegations from 1999 to 2009.
Brand previously pleaded not guilty to five charges in May 2025. His trial is scheduled for June 2026.
This case represents what we see time and again: survivors finding their voices years—sometimes decades—after trauma. The courage it takes to come forward, especially when facing a powerful public figure, cannot be overstated.
We stand with every survivor who has spoken their truth. Your voice matters. Your story matters. You are believed.
If you or someone you know has experienced sexual violence, VBA is here. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

Thank you for courageously sharing your story of abuse. Your voice will inspire countless other men to confront their own traumas.

But WHAT kind of insensitive response was that?!?

During his interview, MMA fighter Tom DeBlass opened up about experiencing childhood sexual abuse. The interviewer’s response? “You must have been an attractive young gentleman.”

While DeBlass clarified he wasn’t personally offended—noting that interviewer Rhasaan Orange uses an intentionally provocative comedic persona—this moment highlights a serious issue: how society responds to male survivors.

This isn’t about intent. It’s about impact.

Comments like these, even when “meant as jokes,” perpetuate harmful narratives that:
• Minimize the trauma of abuse
• Sexualize children
• Make it harder for male survivors to come forward

We can appreciate DeBlass’s grace but Survivors deserve better—every single time.

What are your thoughts?

THIS WAS NOT A PRANK‼️ THIS WAS MURDER‼️

This boy went to work. He should have come home. Instead, his co-workers violated his body in a way that killed him. They called it a “prank.”
Let’s be absolutely clear:
A prank is harmless. Everyone laughs, including the person it happens to.
Sexual assault is a crime. It causes physical injury, trauma, and in this case—death.
When someone inserts ANYTHING into another person’s body without consent, that is sexual assault. Period. It doesn’t matter if you:
• Call it a joke
• Say you didn’t mean it
• Claim it’s “just guys being guys”
• Say “it’s not that serious”
IT IS THAT SERIOUS‼️
TO YOUNG PEOPLE: If someone wants to touch your body in ANY way that makes you uncomfortable, you have the right to say NO. If someone does this anyway, it’s assault—not a prank.
This family will never get their son back. All because some people thought violating someone’s body was funny.
It’s not. It never was. It never will be.
Rest in peace to this young man. You deserved so much better.
We hope everyone involved receive the maximum sentence.

Repost from a child’s voice that is so clear and factual• THANK YOU, your voice matters!
If adults are out here debating the “acceptable age” of abuse, then kids aren’t the ones who need to grow up.

Louisiana made HISTORY with Act 651. Child predators now face REAL consequences. This is accountability. Judges: the power is in your hands—USE IT. Our children are counting on you and so are we! ⚖️ Hopefully more states will follow!

The scared child seeking safety. The angry teenager demanding justice. The exhausted adult longing for peace. They’re all still here, all still part of us.
Recovery means honoring each voice, each need, each part of the journey. There’s no timeline, no “right way” to heal. Just compassion for all the versions of yourself trying their best to survive, and eventually, to thrive.
Be gentle with yourself today. You’re doing harder work than most people will ever understand. 💙

🤔 Megyn Kelly’s recent on-air statements questioning whether Jeffrey Epstein was an “actual pedophile” have drawn widespread and fierce criticism. The core of her argument, made on her Sirius XM podcast, was that a source close to the case suggested Epstein was interested in “barely legal” 15-year-old girls, but not “8-year-olds,” a distinction she believes is significant.
She described his preference as for “very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were, but would look legal to a passerby”.
Kelly maintained that while the behavior was “disgusting,” there is a “difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old”

CommUNITY, what do think? Drop your thoughts on this in the comments.

We are NOT a political organization—we are a survivor-led community that stands with anyone who stands for survivors.

Thank you for using your voice to speak up for those who have felt silenced. When leaders advocate for survivor rights and dignity, it creates space for healing and hope. We see you, and we appreciate you.

Survivors deserve allies who will stand firm, speak truth, and fight for justice. This is what advocacy looks like. 💜
