Laurel Canyon Association

Laurel Canyon Association The Laurel Canyon Association was founded for the express purpose of preserving and improving the quality of life in Laurel Canyon.

Laurel Canyon is a unique and fragile resource. Although we live in the nation’s second largest city and are just minutes from the busy Sunset Strip, the canyon provides a calm, country-like environment. It’s an oasis of nature in the urban sprawl of Southern California. It’s an enclave with a rich history made all the more colorful by a succession of totally original and free-spirited residents.

But this oasis is under attack — from spec developers and illegal construction, from fires and floods, and from tree clearance, fence building and hillside retaining walls. The balance of natural vegetation and modest home size that gave our community its original character is threatened. Only by working together can we put brakes on the forces that could turn ‘paradise into a parking lot’. This is the goal of your Laurel Canyon Association page — to inform, so you can be a more knowledgeable and involved community member. Welcome to your Laurel Canyon Association page!
