Council of Black Nurses, Los Angeles, Incorporated The Council of Black Nurses, Los Angeles, Inc., a chapter of NBNA is a 501 (c) 3, non-profit tax-exempt, non-discriminatory professional organization.

The National Black Nurses Association was founded in 1971 by Dr. Lauranne Sams. The first meeting was held in Cleveland, Ohio. The Council of Black Nurses, Los Angeles, Inc. became a chapter of NBNA in 1974.
