Supreme Lodge Knights of Pythias The Order of Knights of Pythias is an international, non-sectarian fraternal order, established in 1864 in Washington, DC, by Justus H.

Rathbone and was the first fraternal order to be chartered by an Act of Congress.

The weekend of September 11-13 has been designated as the second Sabbath of September, in which the Pythian Day of Divine Worship has been established. Subordinate Lodges are requested to attend divine services in a body. Services may be conducted in a Pythian Hall or other suitable location, or the membership may attend services of their individual faiths in their Houses of Worship.

Summers are, for many of us, a time of rest and enjoyment, but often a time of trials as well. Disasters such as floods, storms, and wildfires sometimes disrupt our lives, or the lives of our neighbors. September 11th also marks the 25th anniversary of the day that marked the United States with a sad reminder that violence and hatred can scar an entire nation.

It is at this time that we, the Knights of Pythias, now come together and put into our Prayers the names and memories of those who need us the most. It is also the time that we remember our roots as an organization dedicated to healing a divided nation. As a Benevolent organization, let us show our communities through deeds of caring and concern, by conducting services open to the public, or by attending services together as a lodge. Remember to include our fellow Brothers and Sisters of all faiths, their families, and loved ones in your prayers.

We ask the Supreme Ruler of the Universe to bless us and keep us, as we the Pythian Order work together in the Spirit of Friendship, Charity, Benevolence, and Love, to make our world a better place for all.
