If you ever drive down Hyperion Ave, use businesses in Silverlake, Atwater Village, Glendale, and Los Feliz, or you live in the area, or have friends who live, love, party, walk, bike, and use the area you should be concerned! This group is concerned with improving the conditions along Hyperion Avenue in Los Angeles, CA. Hyperion Ave. begins as a hilly residential street winding through the Sunset
Junction area of Silverlake, it then merges with Fountain Ave. and becomes a major thoroughfare along the Los Feliz/Silverlake border through the Franklin Hills neighborhood. The street is mixed use retail and residential. It continues over the 5 freeway and LA River as the Hyperion Glendale Bridge and then becomes Glendale Blvd. in Atwater Village. Hyperion is the shared responsibility of Los Angeles Council District 4 run by Councilmember Tom LaGonge, and District 13 run by Mitch O’Farrell. This group is concerned with all problems and issues that hinder our ability to live on or near Hyperion, and to use an enjoy the businesses and other activities on Hyperion and neighboring streets. Key areas of concern include:
--ADA violations, inaccessible sidewalks and curbs
--poor conditions of streets and sidewalks
--illegally operating businesses including illegal ma*****na dispensaries
--businesses that violate city regulations by parking cars on the sidewalk
--inaccessibility of businesses due to lack of traffic lights and stop signs
--pedestrian (and bike) access issues on the Hyperion Glendale bridge
--lack of bike lane, shared use markings on the road
