With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Jonathan Anthony Reyes, known to many as “Cheeto.”

Jonathan passed on April 21, 2026, at just 37 years old after a sudden stroke. He was a kind, caring soul who brought light to everyone around him. He loved music, playing the drums, skateboarding, and spending time working with his family in the movie industry.

He leaves behind his mother, sister, girlfriend, and so many friends who loved him deeply. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.

If you’re able to help support his family during this difficult time, please consider donating using the link in our bio.

You will always be remembered, Jonathan “Cheeto” Reyes. 🕊️

ENTERTAINMENT UNION COALITION MEETS W/ TOP CA GOVERNOR CANDIDATES

With Governor Newsom’s term to conclude this year, we need a continued partner in the incoming California Governor to champion our home-grown film and television industry for the jobs it creates and the investment it contributes to our state economic, local
business, tourism, hospitality industry and more. To stabilize our industry, we need a fighter committed to expand our jobs program for the important value it brings to the state.

“The coalition does not make endorsements [while some individual Unions and Guilds do] but is striving to make sure it has a relationship with whoever comes out on top.

‘We have a story to tell. When we tell it, there is universal support and understanding of what the value is of having this work and this industry centered here.’ - EUC President Rebecca Rhine.” via Variety

This week delivered several important wins for film and television workers across Los Angeles.

The LA City Council approved the first set of “Keep Hollywood Home” motions introduced by Councilmember Adrin Nazarian, efforts developed with unions, FilmLA, industry professionals, and city leadership to streamline the permitting process and make filming throughout our city more accessible.

At the same time, Mayor Karen Bass announced major steps to make Los Angeles more competitive, including reducing filming fees by up to 70% at key city locations like Griffith Observatory and the LA Central Library.

LIUNA Local 724 Business Manager along with Local 724 members, attended both events in support of efforts to keep production and good union jobs here in Los Angeles.

These actions represent real progress toward protecting middle-class careers, maintaining strong labor standards, and ensuring the pension and health benefits our members and their families rely on continue to be funded.

We look forward to continuing to work with city leaders, our sister unions, and industry partners to keep Hollywood home and support the workers who built this industry.
