The LEAP Foundation hosts two separate programs which run concurrently during the week-long LEAP Leadership Seminar: The LEAP High School Program and The LEAP Young Adult Program. Both of these programs are built upon the same core-curriculum; however each is tailored to meet the specific needs of the student age group. No matter the program, all students will learn:
• How to effectively use Goa
l-Setting to achieve success.
• How to communicate efficiently, make an unforgettable impression and speak with impact.
• How to find the perfect mentor, who will show you the way to achieving success.
• The necessary social and business etiquette for success.
• How to acquire the confidence and skills to approach even the most powerful and intimidating people with ease.
• How to position yourself as an influential leader wherever you go.
• How to maintain a healthy body and mind. One differentiating characteristic of LEAP is its method of instruction. The LEAP curriculum doesn't use boring lectures or reading assignments to impact students. Instead, it uses world-renowned speakers (who donate their services) who can motivate, teach, and engage the students. LEAP’s speakers share their life experiences -- which they weave into the curriculum. By having exciting and high-profile speakers, LEAP can share its "Systems for Success" in a unique way to give life to an otherwise "dull" topic. LEAP is very particular about who addresses the students. Each speaker must be an expert in their assigned section and they must share LEAP's focus on personal development. One of LEAP's regular speakers is James Malinchak. James has delivered more than 2,200 motivational presentations worldwide, owns six businesses, authored 16 books, and has researched over 2,500 books on personal and professional development. He owns an international consulting group that trains entrepreneurs to market themselves and their business. James uses his expertise to lead a LEAP session that teaches a proven system for personal marketing and networking. Students can use this system to establish a strong reputation and effective networking habits. Presenter Ron White is a two time national memory champion, winning the USA Memory Championship in 2009 and 2010. Ron shares with students how to train their memory to assist with presentations, test taking, memorizing individuals' names and many other uses. Ron provides students with practical and immediate results useful beyond the classroom. LEAP also has the support of some of Hollywood's top entertainers. Past notable celebrity speakers have included Usher, Paula Abdul, Seth Green and Eva Longoria. LEAP does not invite these people simply because of their celebrity. These celebrity speakers are chosen because they have used the same LEAP skills we teach, in their own career. For instance, when Usher spoke at LEAP, he shared how he sought out and utilized mentors in his career. The LEAP program culminates with the Mentor Workshop. At this event, 100 professionals make themselves available to answer questions about their career. Students use the Mentor Workshop as a testing ground to practice their professional etiquette, informational interviewing skills, and networking skills -- all while exploring future career options. The LEAP Mission is shared by everyone who volunteers at the program. Together, we are working to help young adults uncover the real-life keys to success.
