Women For WineSense Los Angeles

Los Angeles Chapter of Women for WineSense Women for WineSense is a non-profit organization with eleven chapters around the nation.

Our goal is to join women (and men) together who are wine enthusiasts, industry professionals, or just people who want to know more about the beloved libation. We believe that wine enhances and enriches everyday life. We promote the appreciation and responsible enjoyment of wine, and support the professional development of women in the wine industry.

🚨New Event🚨 Join Women for WineSense on September 24 for a special evening at Sony Pictures Studios. We’ll taste wines from the portfolio of Jackson Family Wines, including Cambria Estate Winery (female winemaker!) and the portfolio of Greg Brewer. Founded in 1982 and still family-owned, woman-led Jackson Family Wines boasts Barbara Banke as both Chairwoman and Proprietor.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to take a mini studio tour, offering a behind-the-scenes look at some of the iconic soundstages and sets on the Sony Pictures lot.

The evening includes cheese, charcuterie, and happy hour fare, and is open to both members and our non-member guests. Only one ticket can be bought at the member price. Ticket link in bio.

🚨 New Event Alert 🚨 All aboard for a sunshine and wine-filled day in Santa Barbara!

Join Women For WineSense Los Angeles on Saturday, August 8 for a scenic coastal getaway aboard the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner. We’ll depart from Los Angeles Union Station and travel up the coast to Santa Barbara for a day of exceptional food, wine, and great company.

Our day includes three private tasting experiences in downtown Santa Barbara, beginning with caviar and bubbles to kick-off the day, followed by a leisurely lunch and wine tasting, and ending with an afternoon tasting before heading back to Los Angeles. You’ll also have a little free time to explore downtown Santa Barbara, grab a coffee, browse the shops, or even dip your toes in the sand.

Event tickets are $145 for members and $175 for non-members, and include three wine tastings, lunch, snacks throughout the day, taxes, and gratuities. Link in bio for more details.

Sit back, relax, and let us take care of the rest. All you need to do is board the train and enjoy a memorable summer escape filled with wine, food, and amazing ladies.

Please note: Your event ticket does NOT include rail transportation. After purchasing your event ticket, you’ll need to reserve your Amtrak ticket separately. We recommend booking Business Class on the Pacific Surfliner ($47 each way). Seating is open, and we’ll do our best to sit together and enjoy the journey as a group.

🚨 NEW EVENT ALERT 🚨 Our July meetup will be Tuesday, July 14 starting at 6pm. We’ll meet at Augustine Wine Bar in Sherman Oaks in their private speakeasy, 1946, to catch up and connect with our local Winesense friends and wine fans.

We’ll start with a welcome pour and light snacks, then Augustine’s menu of rare and unique wines and great food will be available for purchase. Members and non-members are welcome, and it’s free to attend. RSVP link in bio.

Salt & Sun: A Portuguese Wine Journey 🍷
Sandra Gomes Rocha brought Portugal to the heart of LA, sharing delicious wine, food and stories that make their culture so special. In Portugal, you never need an excuse to share a bottle of wine with friends and family—it should always be on the table.

Please welcome Emily Little to the LA Chapter Board as Director of Marketing & Communications! Emily’s passion for wine led her through several levels of WSET, and her love of the vibrant, welcoming wine community led her to W4WS. She brings 15 years of marketing and advertising experience to the role (her day job helps fund her wine habit), and she hopes to use her expertise to help grow the W4WS community.

On June 17, Sandra Gomes Rocha will lead us on an immersive exploration of Portuguese wine, food and culture. You may know her as a former President of W4WS LA, but she is also a Portuguese entrepreneur whose deep roots in Portugal’s agricultural and
wine traditions inspire everything she does.

She is the co-founder and CEO of Diniz Cellars, Los Angeles’ premier Portuguese wine importer and distributor. As CEO, she leads all aspects of the business—from curating a portfolio of exceptional wines to driving sales strategy and brand development.

A respected voice in the industry, Sandra is also one of the leading authorities on Portuguese wine education in Southern California. In 2024, she launched Portuguese Wine Week—an annual celebration that showcases the diversity, quality, and cultural richness of Portuguese wines to both the trade and the public.
