Join DOCOMOMO US/New York Tri-State next Saturday April 18th at 1030am for a special gallery tour at the Noguchi Museum of the exhibition Noguchi’s New York guided by its curator Kate Wiener. The exhibition examines the Japanese American artist’s deep and dynamic relationship with New York City, exploring how its material, cultural, social, and political landscape indelibly transformed his artwork and thinking, and how he in turn transformed the city. It also highlights Noguchi’s unflagging attempts to give back by sculpting communal spaces for exploration and play—efforts often thwarted, most notably by the influential NYC Parks Commissioner Robert Moses. DOCOMOMO US/New York Tri-State is pleased to announce three awardees of its student and emerging professional grants to support participation in the 19th International Docomomo Conference. The awardees are Abbey Rae Francis, a Master of Science candidate in the Historic Preservation program at Columbia University’s GSAPP; Ashlyn Pause, a second-year graduate student in Historic Preservation at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture Preservation and Planning; and Zeki Furkan Sarilican, a third year PhD student and a Rutgers Presidential Fellow. We’ve extended the application deadline for our symposium grant applications to Friday January 9, 2026. So apply today! Docomomo US/New York Tri-State is now accepting applications for its 2026 student and emerging professional grants to support participation in the 19th International Docomomo Conference in March.

The grant provides financial support for students and emerging professionals committed to the documentation and conservation of Modern Movement buildings, landscapes, and sites. The intent of this year’s scholarship is to enable up to two individuals to participate in the 19th International Docomomo Conference in Los Angeles, CA, March 17 – 22, 2026.

Docomomo US/New York Tri-State is now accepting applications for its student and emerging professional grants to support participation in the 19th International Docomomo Conference in Los Angeles, CA, March 17 – 22, 2026.

The New York Tri-State chapter’s grant provides a single award (up to $1,200) for related expenses. Preference will be given to applicants studying, working or residing in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut or currently or previously engaged on topics related to the New York Tri-State region’s Modern Movement.

Published by Princeton University Press, the book is being released in the U.S. on February 18.
