"Shanterial Rozier is a transformational life coach, engineer, and EmpowHer mentor who empowers young women through compassion and proven strategies. With 30 years of experience as an engineer at companies like Collins Aerospace and Sony, she broke barriers in her field while mentoring others and advocating for diversity. Her resilience stems from a childhood shaped by her mother’s strength after losing her father, teaching her that determination and self-belief can overcome any circumstance. As a single parent, she passed on those values to her daughter, fostering an environment of growth and support. Shanterial finds deep purpose in EmpowHer’s mission, providing a judgment-free space where young women can thrive. Her advice is simple yet profound: “Be yourself. You are enough.”

Mentoring is transformative for Shanterial because it offers hope and confidence to those who need it most. She believes showing up consistently for young women can reignite their dreams and remind them they’re not alone. Thank you, Shanterial, for sharing your wisdom with our girls!

Be like Shanterial and become an EmpowHer mentor! It takes just 1–2 hours a month, but it can change a life forever. Contact [email protected] to learn more.

June is Pride Month. In honor of this national celebration, we are honoring young leaders who are transforming visibility into real change in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Naima Starr is a young activist who blends art and activism, founding Soulra to amplify Black creative work, co‑leading Afrekete to uplift Black feminist and q***r community, and even designing her “Adorn Me” collection for Atlanta Fashion Week x Adidas Originals to honor ancestral beauty.

Mia Miller, disability rights advocate, stepped into activism through the It Gets Better Youth Voices program, later sharing their coming‑out story with Teen Vogue and speaking openly about navigating q***rness, Islam, and becoming the role model their younger self needed.

Zaya Wade, LGBTQ+ rights advocate, has grown into a model and advocate whose early courage earned her honors like The Advocate’s Women of the Year and The Root’s Young Futurists, and she continues building safer futures for trans youth through Translatable, the nonprofit she co-founded with her father, Dawayne Wade.

Naima, Mia, and Zaya are perfect examples that Pride is shaped by truth-telling, creativity, and the courage to build the world you needed when you were younger for your true self and future generations. Happy Pride Month! +

Congratulations, class of 2026! This past Saturday, we had the honor of presenting $17,500 in scholarships to our high school seniors. We are proud to announce that 100% of our high school seniors have graduated and been accepted to a college or university.

We would like to extend a special thank you to The Horacek Family Scholarship Fund for their generous support of our graduates. Thank you, Adai Lamar, from KJLH Radio, for being our keynote and sharing her wisdom with our EmpowHer girls and youth. Thank you to everyone who donated to our scholarship fund this year. Thank you to Chase Bank for providing us with the venue to host our 2026 Scholarship Ceremony.

Happy World Oceans Day! A day to celebrate young women who are learning to navigate both the water and their own futures. Through our Social Justice STEAM Camp, EmpowHer Girls explore underwater worlds that most people only see in photos. They learned how to breathe through fear, trust their training, and witness the beauty that lives beneath the surface. They gain scuba and sailing certifications, build confidence, and discover that leadership can look like a girl in a wetsuit, a science lab, and a classroom.

Happy World Environment Day! A global reminder that environmental action and sustainability aren’t optional. They’re essential. At EmpowHer, we know environmental justice is social justice. Our Social Justice STEAM Camp was designed with the goal of building environmentally conscious leaders focused on addressing climate change. Communities of color--including the girls we serve--are often the most impacted by pollution, climate change, and limited access to green space. When girls understand these connections, they become leaders who advocate for cleaner neighborhoods and real climate equity.
