Paul Thompson, known to fans as Pearl, contributed significantly to the evolution of The Cure’s post-punk and gothic sound. As a founding member, his atmospheric guitar layers helped define the band’s emotional and mysterious tone in the late 1970s and early 1980s. His style blended artistic subtlety with haunting melodies that became iconic within the alternative music scene.

Beyond music, Thompson pursued visual arts, proving that his creativity extended well beyond performance. His artwork reflected the same introspective and expressive qualities that marked his musical style.

Although he stepped away from The Cure, his influence remains a vital part of the band’s legacy. His contributions continue to be celebrated by fans who appreciate his ability to merge art and music in a deeply personal way.

'AT SEA' consists of 9 tracks based upon an oceanic theme of two parts - The Calm and The Storm (Lee Meadows idea)- which focus on the current state of the world, loss and related issues.

The vocals & guitars were recorded by Carfax & Diego over a period between April & October 2025, then mixed & produced in Telford, UK by Lee Meadows (BatBoy Slim), who also supplied the drums & occasional synth.

During this period, David joined the band on live drums, providing a sturdy backdrop for these heartfelt songs to be performed on stage as a three piece.
'At Sea' includes the singles ‘Silent Wave’, ‘Walk On Water’ and a cover version of The Glass House Museum’s song ‘Tides’.
